He's improved his blocking enough to get reps at FB and it seems that Martz has found some use for him after all. We need to see what he can accomplish next season now that he's brought his game up a notch as an all around player.

Don't believe a reporters bullshit that he was drafted only to be a pass catching TE. Olsen isn't of the Shannon Sharpe mold. No Bears TE has ever been just a pass catcher and to imply anything else is just 'reporter-speak' in my opionion.
Yeah, I just do not think you can get value for olsen now, no one is giving up a 1-3 for him now if didn't last year, and i'd not make it for for a 4th-7th..

Eddie Williams switched from TE to FB in 2009. He's a hard-working FB with good receiving skills. He can play both positions. Let's sign him from the PS and give him some time to develop.

we wont get crap for Olsen just like last year when they tried to trade him

I would cut Manu. Olsen the starter and use him in the passing game more. Martz has to adjust the scheme to fit the tight end like Al Saunders did with the scheme when he was with the Chiefs. Next I would keep Davis just as a body for ST. For my third TE I want a blocking TE and I think Lance Louis will need to be switched to that position. The need for the pure blocking TE has been here however since Gilmore was let go.
