FWIW moore was replaced before his injury...

Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer considers the likelihood of Matt Moore starting again this season at "low to none."

Coach John Fox wouldn't even commit to Jimmy Clausen after his Week 3 starting debut, but Gantt seems convinced that the job is permanently his. Clausen figures to improve by the week, though that's not saying much considering his effort against Cincinnati. Moore heads to free agency in 2011.
    =========

Coming on late in relief of a brutally ineffective Jimmy Clausen, Panthers QB Matt Moore completed 5-of-10 passes for 35 yards and two interceptions against the Bears in Week 5.

Yeah, he had a bad year in '10. Remember when Delhomme lost his starting job in '09? Moore played 7 games (8 TD, 2 INT) and eliminated the Giants from the playoffs. You can say that he's had at least one good season. How many good seasons have Hanie and/or Collins had? Collins was awful and Hanie had just ONE good game. That's all. Moore has played the back-up role well in the past, so it seems that’s what he’s best suited to do. Moore > Hanie.

disagree - rather have hanie over moore. hanie has potential( as we saw in the championship game), moore showed his cieling already and not pretty, imo and the following week after the good panther "w' over giants moore got romped 41-7 to the vikes, not surehow much to read into even that

    My final mock:

    1. OTCamiri/wilkerson( whoever falls.. and add in costonza)

    2. DT nevis/Carpenter( the opposite position of round 1)

    3. CB- ras dowling( or little if still there, which doubt)

    4. LB- Nate irving

    5. WR- ausitin pettis

    6. BPA- Guard/center

    7. BPA period

well guess have to be myself a "C".. got the first pick corect and 2nd pick right positionbut wrong guy.. then had it blow up in my face, when dowling/little and irving all went before we picked in 3rd.. that was a painful 3rd round for bears with guys they were interested in..Suprised didn't go C/guard in 5th, but got the LB in 6th.. So just missed the one position, and think team made a concious decsion with how the draft broke to go F/A for guard and WR

I don't know why we'd want to trade Caleb Hanie any time soon. He's barely out of the developmental stage himself and he's only had one stupendous quarter in his entire NFL career. Enderle hasn't even seen training camp yet so we don't even know it he can play and even if he does he'll be holding the clipboard and tending Gatorade for at least two years.

What the guy who wrote that thinking? Are these guys that ill informed our are they just stupid?

Right now, except for the fact that Cam Newton might be the greatest thing since sliced bread to come around the block, the quarterback situation in Carolina is beyond awful. Players were getting injured all because they had no support up front. Yet, somehow, they had a pretty good ground game, which I don't get.

Hey DB, would Tarvaris Jackson be a better option than Matt moore?

ohhhh now talking the worst of the worst LB....not sure who wins that one.. would not want either anywhere near halas hall honestly.. after 4+ decades of Qb crap and Qb mery-go-round games yearly.. no reason to want to hope back on THAT merry-go-round anymore and add bad qb's to team..

No Moore, no Jackson.... Who's left? Matt Leinart, Alex Smith, Marc Bulger, Brodie Croyle, Kyle Boller...

If was carolina, i'd take mcnabb or palmer in trade for 2011 and let newton learn from bench

For bears, do not need any vet for 2011- unless got an offer that knocked bears socks off for hanie.. then i'd go with bulger, just because he knows the playbook and martz- so no learning curve, and like all teams with franchise qbs you hope the back up doesn't see field anyway
