Chicago Bears: Trim the Fat

As teams have started to do they are cutting the fat off their rosters to get ready for the CBA and eventual free agency.

The Browns started the movement today and rumors have circulated about players that the Bears could release.

Potential List

OT Kevin Shaffer [1.5 million]

He is a backup OT and does not bring anything more then a 6th round pick would.

DT Tommie Harris [3.75 million]

He flashes once a season and he makes way to much money to continue to create the discussion and drama that he does.

RB Chester Taylor [1.5 million]

I do not know why the Bears would release Taylor since they paid him most of the money they owed him this year.

TE Brandon Manumaleuana [3.7 million]

He might stick around because Mike Martz loves him, but he was awful this season.

A good start and keep on cutting. Wolfe, Harrison on the block too.

Todd Collins is a FA, right?

I don't see taylor being cut, but the others mentioned are sure to go.
