If I say the bears beat the lions with both of their back up qbs..The bears beat the vikings with Joe Webb playing most of the game is lucky
Oh god my head hurts when trying to reason with you on this debate because you just focus on negative portion and ignore the psotives..
Again this is where we are differ.
We Went out and got the top F/A DE to get sacks and get to the QB- so when he does his job in week 1 and sacks the qb, that isn't "luck", and if the resulting Sack ends with the Qb getting injured that isnt "luck" and You, yourself "brag" about the 1985 team and how they hurt qb's and never once have you seen you call that 'luck" for them or a lucky season despite facing alot of back up's after the stater got injured or knocked out. But yet when your 2010 DE's goes out and sacks the qb and hurt them like you praise the 1985 team and how "good" that was for them.. its now "luck" for the 2010 team againt lions and vikes- that is what is so fustrating, it wasn't "luck", it was hard play by the 2010 Defense, just like it was in 1985
And the point of the packers and eagles losing to these same Backup's is you by saying 'lucky" we faced these back up's and the wins somehow diminished because facing backup's, the packers and eagles LOST not WON, against these same back up's- for even trying to denigrate these wins as "lesser wins" makes no sense, when the oter playoff teams lost to the same back up's don't you think?

BTW of the 32 teams in the league, how many teams got to play a team with a losing record in the playoffs?
well 22 of 32teams didnt get to even play in the playoff's, so 68.7% of teasm never get the chance- and of those that did the other team that did play a team with a losing record, probably doesn't think it was "lucky" facing them as the Saints LOST that game.. just saying..

The bears do not have enough of something needed to win the superbowl.
Exactly. You need to reread what o wrote and maybe it'll "click" as to why anthrax was wrong. Ill give you a clue, its all in the descriptor "to win the superbowl."

Once again we are going down this road where you are making up shit without backing up your facts. Now you bring the 85 bears team into this discussion. No where did I mention or use reference of the 85 bears team in this thread. I also did not say anything negative about Julius Peppers or reference his sacking Stafford was luck. As for NOT praising our defense you need to read my posts closely because I did give props to this defense yet your inability to comprehend my words is your problem, not mine. As for this thread, I am done discussing any topic in here because you can't get your facts straight on what I actually say and what make up.

I don't think Rod Marinelli is good at all and seeing how the packers run their defense make me believe he is a yes man to lovies system. The packers are not that good on kick offs, teams seem to run through them. I think the kicking game is close but I give gould the edge. If we could remove Jerry Angelo from drafting players or trading picks away and get someone that knows football then maybe we can catch up to the packers in a few years.

We played the worst and best team in the league this year(Patriots and Panthers). We also played the superbowl champions 3 times this year and we won one game and lost two games to them. I think we had some impressive games on defense and there were games where we let poor teams beat us. When we faced the patriots they kicked our ass in bad weather. The Jets also tore us up in a game yet we beat them by scoring a ton of points. Our defense got to play against 5 back up qbs. Sorry but a good defense should be able to pad their stats when facing guys like Jimmy Clausin, Joe Webb, Tyler thigpen, and the lions back up qb and favre. Mcnabb gets benched and rex Grossman takes over and Matt hasselback is well past his prime is another sign that we played some soft teams. Every team has 1 or 2 bad games and the offense or defense look bad but there are games where good defenses completly shut down good offensive teams. Now if we could have shut down the patriots at home or kept the game close i would then consider the bears defense elite. I think we are in the top 10 but not the elite.

Actually I don't think either one of you are wrong in this case but more of a matter of opinion on how you use certain words.

by saying we faced the lions back up and vikes back up and "lucky' that is exactly what you are saying, as BOTH those situations caused not by luck, but by the bears DE making a play causing the Starting Qb's to not play anymore. That is pretty self-explanitory.You denigrate the plays and wins caused by this defense yet your inability to comprehend my words is your problem, not mine.

We were a lucky team yet some people just can't see that. When somone says bears had a good season and 11-5, you say they were just 'lucky' and faced 5 back up's as a reason not as good as their record, when a large part of facing the back up's was because the "D" KNOCKED OUT THE STARTER, that is denigrating the play of peppers and the "D" and instead of givign them credit, actually turning it into a negative they knocked qb's out of the game

The Bears were a good team that got more than their fair share of luck

Dude I don't know what crawled up your ass but I am not biting into your pissing match so you can later send a PM to benjamin about me attacking you. You are a sad individual on here. I have not been replying to your posts but I bit in this thread when you quoted me. Now I regret replying to you because you keep making up shit that I never said. Sorry but this last post like the previous couple is another spin of you twisting things that were not said by me. I am done with you.
