plex is expired imo. I love Floyd talent but his nick nack injuries put an asterik on him for me. Steve Smith to me is a no way in hell. His injury is borderline career threatening

Go after moss because he won't cost you much. Most of the other guys have injury problems or off field issues. I think we are better off drafting wrs.

Moss IS an issue. We already have guys that CANT run routes, why do we want one that doesn't WANT to run routes?

Plus odds are his attitude will rub off on the younger players as well. I wouldn't touch Moss with a 10 foot pole.

he might have expired - just saying worth a looking the price will be right..

and on smith didn't think micro surgery ws career threatening?

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said last week that the prognosis was good but said there will be restrictions on Smith during his rehab and practices.
It is likely the Giants will handle their Pro-Bowl receiver with kid gloves the way they did with safety Kenny Phillips, who underwent microfracture surgery last year and was eased throughout the offseason and training camp.

And While personally like the idea of a 6'3"+ WR... "IF" carolina did release or want to move on from that steve smith, i'd also take a real hard look, that despite his small size, he does fight for the ball and plays more like a much taller WR..and sounds like on draft day they would enterain trade offers( though if no CBA, there can't be any trades would nix that)

New head coach Ron Rivera cast some doubt on Steve Smith's future with the Panthers, indicating only that the receiver is part of the team's plans "right now."

"It's a touchy thing," Rivera conceded. "We're going to have to wait until everything's cleared up and see where he is." Rivera expects Smith to at least take part in the first minicamp. The team will proceed after they see how "he fits with it, and see how it fits him and see if it's what we need and what we want, and we'll go from there." The Panthers are more open-minded on Smith's future than expected. Depending on the CBA talks, the 32-year-old could end up being shopped in the late spring or early summer.

Btw seems rivera already into head coach speak with the "and we'll go from there".. hmm wonder where we have heard that from before? : )

While sidney rice and despite his 2 strikes, vincent jackson the obvious F/A's would expect both to be tagged, eliminating them from the bear's radar the below is the class of 2011:

    Santonio Holmes (NYJ)

    Braylon Edwards (NYJ)

    Malcom Floyd (SD)

    Steve Smith (NYG)

    Terrell Owens (CIN)

    Randy Moss (TEN)

    Steve Breaston (ARI)

    Mike Williams (SEA)

    TJ Houshmandzadeh (BAL)

    Mike Sims-Walker (JAC)

    Lance Moore (NO)

    Maurice Stovall (TB)

    Santana Moss (WAS)

*plaxico burress- out of jail and think a F/A

Which is a mis-mash of who knows what?.. Moss is intriguing with Cutler for the Size and what he likes- just not sure what he has left or mind-set or lockroom, but if came with a incentive ladden deal, the best of the rest. really like steve smith, but don't think the Giants can afford to let him go, but he's worth a good long look at and if not him than malcom flyod would be next

Players like moss/holmes/moore, just repeating what we have here, and edwards IMo still drops too many key passes to ink a deal>breaston's knee a concern, and just IMO, if the cards don't ink him, means worse than expected
None of the WRs do anything for me other than VJ and Rice and they are likely not going to be an option as you have pointed out.

SO talking a 2-3 year project at least.. wouldn't touch until later in draft because if this
Fair enough, but don't forget that Dick Gordan was drafted as a RB and was converted into a WR. That worked out pretty well.

different era's ,, and maybe he does becme a great WR- jsut poiting out he's very raw, and with only 1 1/2 years as a WR under belt, coming into martz's compliated "O" and precision Patterns may not be the best place for him, or work out here as would in another system, where maybe the time he needs to learn the position as a back up can behad, over the bears needing a WR now

players in basketball barely come back from that. And he always had marginal speed add the surgery and he might be no better then Bennet going forward.

I just want to go forward like we did with Peppers. You go for the best in FA cause anything less is over paid and you get little production out of it. Im just saying I wouldnt touch the guy.
