I just want to go forward like we did with Peppers. You go for the best in FA cause anything less is over paid and you get little production out of it. Im just saying I wouldnt touch the guy.
basketball players wusses. : )... as said just looking at different options and if a medical red flag then you don't make an offer- and unfort the only 2 "best" of F/A are Rice and jackson and don't think either is making to F/a and will be tagged, so looking at the rest

What is in Minn right now that would want Sidney to resign, team is in rebuild mode, and qb position is the worst in the division? If I were him I would be looking at my options.

He could be forced to stay with the franchise tag

True, not sure he is worth the Franchise tag for them right now though. Should be interesting to see how that goes down.

Better to franchise him than to lose a talent like him for nothing

I believe that if the Bears are gonna spend some dough in FA this is where at least some of that pile should be spent. We need a guy with #1 skills or at the very least the potential to quickly develop #1 skills NOW!! Anybody we draft would probably require at least two seasons to develop and it's far more of a crap shoot than anyone of the top FA wideouts. That's one of the reasons JA never wants to draft one very high so it makes sense that he may try to solve this issue in FA doesn't it?

Martz puts more emphasis on precise route running than he does on size but I truly think we need both. The 6' guys we have can get better with their routes (they all have good hands) but none of them is gonna grow 3 or 4 inches and gain 20lbs so it's high time we got Cutler his Brandon Marshall type clone and have done with it so that some of our posters will finally stop insiting we spend a #1 on a wideout. Ain't gonna happen from what I can see. As long as JA is the GM I think he'll shy away from that risk so FA is about the only route available unless Johnny Knox suddently turns into another Steve Smith in his prime!
