Belichek is the type that would not want to lose Mankins for nothing.

Would you trade our 2nd or 3rd round pick for Logan Mankins?
No I would not trade both picks for one guy. Jerry needs these picks so we can trade down and get more picks so he has a better chance on landing guy projected to be a 1st round pick.

I also agree with Grizz, I've not followed many college players careers, but reading about that Carimi kid, he sounds like the best option outside of pouncey (who i'm thinking will already be gone)
I'm having a hard time believing that NE would even let Mankins go period let alone for a 3rd round pick but if they were willing to deal for that little, hell yes you get him. Does anyone here see anyone in the 3rd round of the draft who could be his immediate equal? This line needs to be rebuilt now and not two years from now so yeah, if you can get him for that price you do it no questions asked. If they want a second then it needs to be next year second and not this years. Too many other holes to fill to give up that high a pick this year.

Get Mankins if possible and then draft Carimi and we get a very nice starting combo on the left side. Then we still have Williams as a very competent swing man at either spot for depth. If we accomplish this Omiyale can be banished to the right side and compete with Webb for the RT spot which of course he'll lose and become an expensive backup but once again a fairly competent one with a starters experience. We can live with Kruetz and Garza for another year but we need to be drafting replacements for both or find someone already on the roster who can take over.

What other OT/OG are available on the free agent market?

Not a chance they are trading mankins for a 3rd..i'm with you, that's crazy talk, his tag will prob be around $10.7 mill FWIW and he was "disgruntled" in 2010 and still made all pro , so the $10 mill sure better than the $1.54 mill he made in 2010

There are some crucial moves that need to be made. First and foremost is keeping Tice, next is getting someone in FA, then it's increasing depth and competition. I honestly don't think Carimi is going to be there when we pick or that we would pick him knowing our track record. Perhaps trading down and getting some OL depth.
I can see them removing Omiyale at LT but keep the line the same for "consistency". Then the pivotal decision to either move Williams back to LT or keep him at G. If Louis or E.Williams don't pan out then we need to still keep finding depth and stop falling further behind in talent.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I think we need to sign Jared Gaither and keep Chris Williams in on the depth chart for the LT position.

Jammal Brown, Doug Free (whom I wanted in the draft over Wolfe and has turned into a stud at LT), Marshal Yanda, Blalock, Dahl and Ryan Harris top my list.

The Falcons have 3 starting OLmen in free agency and all are talented and they will not be able to sign them all.
    OG Justin Blalock 6'4" 329lbs.
Solid unspectacular player who is young and solid and would be a huge upgrade.
