Well said shorty! It's pretty obvious that if the Pats do trade him the price will be pretty high. We need this years draft picks more than we need to give some of the higher ones away for one OG. As I've already said, if we could get him for a 3rd round pick this year or a 2nd in next years draft then I'd say go ahead but I don't see the Pats willing to deal for so little.

We can't afford to spend high draft picks on him like we did with Cutler when we have other needs to fill and this draft seems to be well stocked with guys who would be a good fit for the Bears. In addition none of this even considers what his contract would do to the cap situation as 54 has also pointed out.

Just like the fact that I'd like to drive a 7 series BMW but can't afford one I think the Bears will find that Mankins just doesn't fit the current budget either picks wise or $$$$ wise.

That is well said, but think how good you would look in that new BMW.

I agree that anything more then a 3rd round pick is too much. We need to restock on young NFL talent and that happens in rounds 1 and 2.

That being said, Jerry Angelo and Tim Ruskell are going to have to be willing to trade up for some key players in this year's draft. What's the likelyhood that any of the top five or so OLmen will go at pick 30 in the 1st Round?
