Would you trade for OG Logan Mankins?

With the Mankins/Patriots relationship were it is I am wodnering if the reason that they are tagging him is so that they can work out a potential trade.

Belichek is the type that would not want to lose Mankins for nothing.

Would you trade our 2nd or 3rd round pick for Logan Mankins?

Probably not. Mankins is a beast and would improve ANY line, but My take is that we now have Mike Tice.
Mike Tice brings something to the table that has been all too elusive. an ability to develop linemen like not many can.
I like the idea of getting another young guy or two and develop them along side Webb and Williams. Not saying linemen like Mankins are a dime a dozen.... I'm just saying if anyone can polish a turd it's Tice so Imagine what he can do with some young early round linemen.

Webb was a shaky 7th going into the season, and look at him now. could easily start on half the teams in the NFL where most figured he was nothing more than a practice body.

I really wanna see us grab 2 O-line early.

    PRAY FOR:
    Nate Solder
    6'8" 300+ and runs a 4.8 40ydsh
Looks to be gone early in the 1st, but if he's available at 29 I'll fucking die. Or kill if he's there and we don't take him.

I'd consider trading a 2nd or 3rd round pick, but not a 1st round pick.

I think if we lose draft picks for players we are handcuffing our success for this upcoming season. We need the mix of young stars and vets and trading away picks just doesnt give you that

Someone wanted HERMAN JOHNSON on the team and I'd like to think it was Tice's say so.

Like people say...look what he did with Webb.

MAYBE...just maybe...Tice has the influence to counter angelos zaniness for players not needed...

and we could land an Offensive Lineman in the first two rounds AND trade our third for Mankins.

It could happen if some egos step aside and let the COACHES do the drafting.

All things considered...thats three Offensive Linemen right there.

    One Pro (Mankins)...one rookie(draft)...and one experiment(Johnson).

Webb was an experiment and a rookie.

If we didn't trade in previous years it would be a option but like Mo said we need a mix of young and vets. I'd take either Solder, Carimi in the first and Moffit or Wiseniwski in the second. But I suppose I'll yell at the tv when we draft another DE.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

If we could get him for a third, I probably wouldn't cry about it...
I think that there is a possibility the Bears could draft a OT in the first or the second, but I really think that if Nevis (DT-LSU) is available, Bears will take him, and take O-line in the second. I said in another thread I thought there is a real chance our draft could go Nevis-1st and Ziemba-2nd. That would be Ziemba and Mankins added into the line, as well as a young guy that I think could eventually end up dominating on the D-line. Probably won't happen, but one can always hope...

Guys, get past Solder, because we aren't going to get a shot at him. I mentioned him here before last year's draft as the most interesting OL prospect eligible for that draft, and a season later he's become almost as good on the field as he is interesting on paper. This OT class is a real tossup in the first with a clear #1 OT yet to be determined, so anything can happen from now until the draft depending on workouts. Hopefully we get a shot at one of the top 5, because after that, it is a STEEP drop off in talent.

I would trade a second or third round draft pick for Logan Mankins. It's not often that you get a player of that quality on the offensive line here in Chicago. We would still have all of our other draft picks in play (1st Round, etc.), and we could use our first round pick to either get another hog maulie or a wide receiver.

I'd trade a 2nd next year. The Pats are always looking to get a decent amount of draft picks from each year, and since Mankins has already publicly said he doesn't think that he has a future with the Patriots, I'd do it on that condition. I also agree with Grizz, I've not followed many college players careers, but reading about that Carimi kid, he sounds like the best option outside of pouncey (who i'm thinking will already be gone)
