I guess that Ron Rivera thinks Bob Babich is a good LB coach as well.
What hasn't been reported previously is that Babich interviewed with Ron Rivera in Carolina to become the Panthers linebackers coach. Babich was offered the job and likely was able to use that as leverage in his new contract to return to the Bears for an eighth season.

Do you think their success is more as a result of babich or playing on the field with Briggs or Urlacher? In my field I have learned much more from hands on experience and people that are actually in my field than my bosses that just hand me paper and tell me to make this part. If you ever watch the movie Office Space, I live that for real and I deal with the TPS reports BS every day.

Bob babich's great job with coaching the linebackers is the reason we got Chris Harris back. He's the one who got that Jamar Williams guy to perform so well that he was attractive to the Panthers in a trade. You could also look at the job he did with Nick Roach and Brian Iwuh. He has them playing on a level where they can start on other teams in this league. So can you guys please stop blindly hating Babich. I think he's a top 5 linebacker coach in this league.

*shakes head* how do you equate sucking at one thing with sucking at everything you do?.... it's like me saying since you can't drive worth a damn you must suck at grocery shopping....
It's hard to look at our LB's and say Bob Babich doesn't deserve to have job.
Other than his flop at DC someone give me an example of HOW exactly you come to the conclusion that he sucks and shouldn't have a job.
Grizz, I take the position that our LB's are as good as they are despite Babich. Urlacher was playing all-pro LB before Babich came along and Briggs isn't far behind if he's even behind at all. Hilly was also a very solid player before Babich came along, Pisa earned his stripes with another team so that leaves just Roach who may have benefitted from him.
You often here the Dlineman comment on how much they enjoy playing under Marinelli but when have you ever heard Urlacher and Co. toss any kudos in Babich's direction?

Can you name 10+ lb coaches in this league who has his starters and back-ups as prepared as ours. Most likely not. So please actually give a valid response.

You're forgetting Jamar Williams(whom we traded for chris harris) and Brian Iwuh (had double digit tackles against seattle)

Without looking it up, can you name be 10+ line backer coaches? Most likely not.
You want an actual response? Here you go.
Urlacher thrived before him. Briggs thrived before him. He had nothing to do with them, and still has nothing to do with them. If you want to give Babich credit for their skills, then you are sadly mistaken.

Jamar Williams was a pretty decent player but certainly not starting caliber stuff. It was a good trade and we got a far better bargain than they did. Williams was easily replaced as a WLB backup and ST player by Iwuh who despite his strong game against Seattle was primarily a ST player. Guys like him and Williams are a dime a dozen brother and I really give Babich no credit for either. Roach is the only guy on the roster who I can honestly say has possibly been coached up by Babich.

Roach, Williams, and Iwuh all say hello.
