If it's durability, don't we already have a LT that we drafted in the first w/durability issues?

don't get him is a moslem

His durability issues are a drawback, but they are also going to allow us to be active in other areas of the free agency.
Harris is a major upgrade and I think that the Broncos were getting rid of him because they cannot afford to pay him and he was not a great fit for Josh McDaniels system.

he was still under his rookie contract when they tried trading him.

But they were not going to resign him at the end of the season.
Listen with the amount of dumb things Josh McDaniels did I will not take him trying to trade Harris as a shot at his talent level or value.

Its impossible to say what they would or would not have done, and for all we know they STILL may re-sign him. Point is, you cant use the money issue as an argument about why he was going to be traded since at the time, money wasnt the issue.

Windy, I disagree that Ryan Harris would constitute a major upgrade. He plays RT and if he was really all that great a prospect at LT the Broncos wouldn't have spent a 1st round pick on Clady and then Clady would have been the Bear's pick instead of Chris Williams. Harris is far more another Williams than he is a Clady and much like Williams he has injury concerns.
If the only problem the Broncos had with him is that he didn't fit McD's system then since McD is gone they would probably be trying very hard to re-sign him and they're not. You propose that we give him a $36 mil deal. The Broncos aren't willing to do that and neither should the Bears pay that much to get another OT who's very similar to CWill. I think Webb will turn out to be a much better player than Harris and I think we could draft an OT to play the left side and get a better player for less money than we we'd have in Harris.

How is he not an upgrade over Williams?
He has started 34 games at RT and played at a very high level. I do not know why the Broncos wanted to trade him or why they will not resign him, but teams were lining up to trade for him.
Harris is a very solid starting OT in the NFL and would have played LT for the Broncos if Clady had not fallen to them and they had a great value pick.
Harris can play LT and Williams is a complete BUST.

If we could sign
OT Ryan Harris 5 years 21 million/10 guaranteed
OG Davin Joseph 5 years 28 million/ 13 guaranteed
And draft
OG Mike Pouncey
Our OL could look like this
LT: Harris
LG: Pouncey
C: Kreutz
RG: Joseph
RT: Webb

You are way too eager to toss big money at Joseph who has broken his foot twice in three seasons.
