Bears were close to obtaining OT Ryan Harris
The Broncos reportedly attempted to deal RT Ryan Harris before last season's trade deadline.
They talked trade with the Raiders, Bills, Redskins, Texans, and Bears. Of those teams, the Bears "had the strongest possibility" of acquiring Harris. A six-week ankle injury likely scuttled Chicago's plans to strike a deal. Harris is due to hit free agency this offseason. The Broncos have made it clear that he's not a priority, so expect them to move on at right tackle.

The part that I like about this the most is the price tag, which would be much smaller then some of the other options at LT.
I agree that Harris should be looked at as a LT and come in and compete, and take the job from Chris Williams.
Harris is a great athlete that has been hurt by injuries so his lighter price tag may allow the Bears to also sign an OG.

Harris would be a decent pick up especially now that they can get him without giving up draft picks and assuming a CBA gets done so FA can start up. He was slated to move from RT to LT before the Broncos picked up Clady. His strength is pass blocking much more than a power run blocker so LT sounds like a better fit for him. Don't know much about his injury history and how serious it is as that's always a concern. Will be interesting if the Bears do pursue him if the Broncos let him go....

they tried during the saeason, once it was beyond obvious there was still a glaring weakness; even to those that have not played the game or break down 1000's of hours of film.

Glad things improved the second half of season but you don't check a boat for leaks halfway out and then decide to plug her. The preseason should have been a strong indicator to address partially the problem. Who knows-could have saved a concussion or lessened the Giants debacle.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

wow.... I can understand criticism. but the absolute hatred some people have for this organization is beyond being critical or un-happy. some of you are just being ridiculous, and it takes away from the enjoyment of just talking ball.
you know it IS possible to be critical WITHOUT acting like a bunch of 8th graders about it. THAT's what get's me the most.
talk ball but for god's sake be grown up about at at least ONCE in while.... I like to talk mad smack too, but a little balance goes a long freakin way.
