If he could recover like Urlacher did he'd be a real catch but I'm afraid that he isn't the player he used to be or the Colts wouldn't be letting him walk. If he were willing to sign a deal for a minny salary laced with incentives I'd say go for it, if not I think I'd pass.
Does anyone know what his injury status is? Seems to me he's missed most or all of the last two seasons with injuries and that's never good.
he's played 9 games the last 3 years combined.. jut can't see a comeback from THAT, older, slower and unfort in sanders case he's smaller than everyone( just tougher and a bigger ehart than other safeties), so his game will just end with another injury, only way he knows how to play at 5'8"
BTW the indy/bears opening game in 2008, was when knew forte was for real, and it wasn't the 50+ td he had that most point to- but the incredible shot Sanders put on Forte( same kind of hit that has benson crying and gone in superbowl), when he flew through the hole and met Forte head one and forte held on to ball and went back to huddle like it was nothing- knew had a real Rb back then : )

You're probably right. Sanders does us no good if injured or just a shell of his former self. As for his hit on Forte I'm not surprised. The Chicago Bears version of Cedric Benson was a complete pussy around hard contact. I think getting cut finally woke him up to what the NFL is all about. He's done much better in Cincy although I wonder where he might go next.

I just don't see that it's a glaring need. If we got him on the cheap, so be it, but don't overpay for this guy.

I'd like to see us add depth and security, but I'm not sure it's worth the price.
the rotation of Manning, Harris, and Wright (when available) seemed to pay Dividends.
the rotation worked when the pass rush worked. But Manning is a FA and no guarantee to return so I would say looking at safeties has become a priority again. if Manning signs with us I agree I think we are pretty much set but still have to do due dilligence.

Like DB said, Sanders reminds me of Mike Brown, he's always injured and does us no good. He was a beast when healthy, but he plays like a linebacker in a small safeties body.
Go after Asho.

I'd rather get O.J., but seeing how safety is less of a need than CB, DT, OL and WR, Only at the right price. If we get Sanders, it better be at a really low price with the safeties being rotated a lot, so that he's not always on the field.

9 games in the past 3 seasons. No, thanks. The Bears don't need another injury prone player like Sanders. Keep the money!

What if it is for 1 year 1 million dollars?
O.J Atogwe is going to command 3-4 million on a multi year contract, that is why Sanders is more attractive.
