It's a shame that we can't have both Gabe Carimi and Mike Pouncey. I don't know if we'll every consider trading up for a spot in the first round, but I would kill to have both of those guys on my team.

Until we have his replacement Olin Kruetz needs to stay. Beekman was in line for the spot but didn't have the talent to step up and handle it. For those of you who think he's past his expiration date consider the fact that his likely replacement would be Roberto Garza, another Olineman most of you want replaced as well.

Despite the decline in his play his leadership on the line and in the locker room are of value and given the choice between Kruetz or Garza handling the line calls I'll take Kruetz in a New York minute.

I say sign him for 2 years with no upfront guarantees and draft his potential replacement this year. If the guy can step up and win the starting job in 2012 we can cut Olin and save some money. Let's let Kruetz train his replacement and then retire with dignity as one of the best Oline man in Bears history.

yeah I DO jimmors. Cause I believe what I see and not what the fans and media TELL me to believe. I believe in what the guys who actually play against him say and those players along with coaches are the primary drive behind who goes, and who stays.

and as for the "popularity" B.S. to some extent it is, but we also grade HOF's on how many trips they make. so it IS about talent, and a dash of poplularity contest.

if not then why do they still play a roll in the HOF process?....

My current favorite O-linemen after Solder is Wiesniewski. SP?.... he would be an ideal replacement at Guard right out of the gate, and a Great option to replace Olin down the road.

if you trade up for camrimi( or anyone) it would have to include your picks and then you wouldn't be able to get pouncy as he is not lasting to the end of 2nd or end of 3rd depending on what it would take to move up in first...

think the best idea is to see if one of the OT drops and take him at 29 and take the wiz in the 2nd

The question then becomes, DB, whether Wisniewski lasts until the 68th pick in the 2nd Round. If he's not projected to, do you trade up for him and give up, say, the 6th round pick for him as well as our 68th pick? I'm not an expert on how the draft works, so I'll let you inform me on what our options would be in this instance.

I still think we are trading out. We can have two 2 and two 3 and get two OL, a DT, and a DB. It makes sense to me at least

also if we are re-signing Kreutz which to me is a horrible move we arent drafting a C until the 7th round

I have the sneaky suspicion that if we put better guys around Kreutz, he would perform a bit better with the lack of DT collapsing on him. Just saying.

that is always the "question" on how long a guy lasts, and unfort you never know,, and many times teams 'needs" take precedence over the 'best' player, so a guy can last alot longer than his talent suggests( ie rodgers in 2005 because teams didn't need a qb and had other more pressing needs)

while don't think its as applivable as now, here is the draft trade chart:

    http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php

the diff between 62 and let's say lower 50's about a 4th rounder..

hmmm disagree about the olin part, but you could be right about the trade out "IF" nets a 2nd and 3rd.. i'd def consider doing it alot of good talent in mid 2nd-3rd round
