If I was in charge of a football team, I would keep it simple. Get the franchise QB (check), then draft trenches. OL and DL, get dominant on both and the rest will take care of itself. The patriots offense has been great for years because of a great OL and great QB ... RBs, WRs, TEs .... doesn't matter who you plug in, because they have time to throw it and they can run it, and they keep that core together.

Yeah when I read one of the Combine Scouting Reports they had him ranked late first or early second. But I don't want a converted DE playing UT when we should be able to get one of the top DT's with our pick.

If not, tho, he could easily bulk up a bit and not lose too much explosiveness. Liuget, hopefully, falls to us, but I would be happy with Ballard. But ******** If we had the right amount of pieces, I'd trade up to get Prince in a Heartbeat.

I think Liuget, Paea, Carimi and Costonzo are right at the top of the Bears draft board. I'd prefer either Liuget or Carimi but Paea could also work and I'd much rather we took him that Costonzo if both are left. Ballard is kind of tall to be typical of the guy the Bears usually play at DT. He reminds me of a Trevor Pryce type of DT/DE and that ain't too bad but I don't think he's be as outstanding as either Liuget or Paea on the inside.

I think we can all forget about the Bears taking a CB in the first. I just don't think they value that position all that high right now. If CU's Jalil Brown is there in the 3rd I'd grab him in a NY minute. His lack of top speed wouldn't hurt him in Cover-2 and he does have the size and strength to pressure WR's at the line. He should be a ST star too. I see him as being similar to Corey Graham.

I agree with the guys that you'd take, but I'm leaning DT at this point, but either way, our first two picks better be on OL or DT, unless there's an amazing drop by a CB that we simply can't pass up. I don't know much about the guards in this draft, but are there any that would be worth getting in the 2nd round, maybe one that could drop? I think moving Williams back to LT and keeping Webb at RT is our best bet, with redoing the interior of the line through FA/draft.
