Soul- he has 2 years left so its $3.2 mill in amortization, so its a $3.2 mill savings( dead cap space) not $4.8 mill .... Which is why if he would take a lower salary ad no roster bonus makes fiscal sense to keep ( ie pay 2 mill and don't have the 3.2 mill in dead space)

Pay 2 mil for what? A mentally ill gimp that only shows up in December? If you want that sign Bad Santa.

Yeah I think its time to cut him. We will prob pic up a DT in the draft that can fill his role and actually have upside potential.

Thanks man. I don't have the back records of the contract detail anywhere so all I can do it guess when it comes to the actual amortization left. Maybe someday I'll be back up to speed on that. Thanks for the correction.
Well there it is sporsfans. Is Tommie worth the savings or does he need to take a cut to keep his job? I'm thinking it will take an ultimatum from Lovie for him to do it. I believe he still thinks he's worth every penny of what he's due to make this year and only Lovie may convince him otherwise if at all.

I agree with some others this is about more then just the money. This is about getting a guy off the team that does nothing but take up a roster spot and cause speculation and headaches.
Give me a rookie 3rd round pick that we can develop.

I believe his attitude was poor as said earlier. Couple that with injuries and it's a good bet that attitude magnified. I'm excited to see Melton play more and perhaps bulk up.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

He did seem to play better towards the end of the season and playoffs...i think he benefited hugely from having Peppers on the line.
-
He did what he has done the past few years though, show up at the end of the season to make the Bears think he is close to being back so they keep him around.
Then next season comes and he is sleeping out of the gate.
I say cut ties

We've already got one, Marcus Harrison, but all he's developed so far is an appetite.
