Kurt Warner said it took him and his team about 2 years. so back to whoever made the recievers comment.... that they picked it up in a year. NO.... they looked BETTER in year 1 cause it was freakin torry holt and Issac Bruce. those aren't your every day ho-hum players. two of the best in the buisness.... .so yeah... I would expect them to pick it up faster than a DB turned WR at the pro level, and Knox a second year 5th round pick who is still rough around the edges, but has exceeded everyone's expectations.
so NO. I don't see where your coming from cause there is SO MANY FACTORS YOU REFUSE to take into account.

How many years did Tory Holt play when the rams won the superbowl? Tell me did it take him 2 years to learn the playbook because I recall the Rams offense was freaking awesome the year they won it all. How many years did Kurt Warner need under Mike Martz before he won the Superbowl and league MVP?

On the whole learning the playbook thing:
1) Your a professional it's your job to master it
2) You can get help from the coaches
3) With the millions your paid you can FIND someone to help you
4) It isn't quantum mechanics if you can't grasp a football playbook despite all the advantages and help then they are probably intellectually challenged.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

Martz says things I just don't buy into and make me question whether he really believes what he says of whether he's just a poster boy for his own intelligence and job as OC.
Saying that Devin Hester is improving as a WR is fine, he deserves the acknowledgement for that. Saying that he's got what it takes to be a number one guy is stretching it IMO.
Giving his reason for using Collins as a backup in lieu of Hanie is because Collins practiced better is about as dumb as it gets. Of course a more experienced QB playing in practice at 1/2 to 3/4 speed with no real pass rush and no need for quick thinking or the need for athleticism might look better. Now put the guy under game conditions and he folds like a sad sack of $hit. Yet on top of that experience he still won't give Hanie a vote of confidence as his #2. Here's where that lack of trust comes in.
I wonder just how much game video Martz has watched when he claims that Garza has never played RG before? Before his failed move to LG early this past season he's always been a RG. So is Martz misspeaking or just unobservant.
Hint, Mike just let Tice work the Oline thing and you confine yourself to improving Cutler's mechanics like you claim you can do.

pretty sure we could have had comparable success with a better offensive line. I've always said I think we need to upgrade the Offense. at the same time sticking up for guys like Kruetz and Webb, and even williams at times.... but once again. something I figured most people take into account on the subject, but apparently not.
Go look at the Sacks. how many times did kurt warner get sacked compared to cutler.... no no here let me help you.
KW - 1999 Sacks 29; 2000 - 20; 2001 - 38; (Having Orlando Pace in his prime kinda helps)
Jay Cutler 2010 - 52
Do I really need to continue explaining?... Kurt Warner consitantley had time in the pocket. Jay was usually running for his life.

But you argued that martz's playbook is very difficult yet Warner who pretty much was a nobody threw for 41 tds, became the League MVP and Holt was a rookie that year Martz became the OC.

I like Knox, but the thing he is lacking is not mental IMO, it's physical. It's not in his control that he has such a small frame and can easily get pushed around by physical corners like in green bay. I think he would flourish as a #2. We would probably have two 1000 yard receivers. (One could dream right?)

Agree its physical with knox, but he can STILL despite the thin frame fight for the ball better, too many times he either "gave up" or didn't even try to knock down an INT or make sure the defender didn't have a shot, and THAT can be controled no matter how thin- sometimes you still may lose the battle to the stronger CB, but he didn't even try sometimes.. that is what fustrated alot of people
