Former Chicago Bears quarterback Bobby Douglass and linebacker Ron Rivera, now head coach of the Carolina Panthers, are on the 2011 ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame.
Douglass (Kansas), Rivera (California), wide receiver Willie Gault (Tennessee), tight end Marv Cook (Iowa), defensive back Mark Carrier (Southern Cal) and defensive end Al Harris (Arizona State) are the former Bears who made the list. Former Bears coach Dick Jauron (Yale) returns as a candidate.
Last year, former Bears defensive tackle Steve McMichael (Texas) and wide receiver Ken Margerum (Stanford) were enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.
This year's HOF class will be announced live in New York City and inducted at The National Football Foundation's annual awards dinner Dec. 6, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
