Graham didnt lose crap to Bowman. Graham went into Lovie's doghouse when Lovie tried making him a FS and he refused saying he is a CB. Im sure you didnt forget that? Bowman was no way shape or form better then Graham. All Bowman did good was being opportunistic with turnovers. Other then that he CONSISTENTLY got tore up every game

I forgot about Graham being in the doghouse. Hell, they were playing McBride over him who was barely average.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

So that's the facts behind why he's been in Lovie's doghouse. Thanks mo! Now what Lovie said about his going somewhere else to get a shot at CB makes perfect sense. To Lovie Graham is Toub's boy and not his. What he made pretty clear without actually coming out and saying it is that Graham will never play CB for him.
Another example of Lovie's stubborness?

As much as I disagree with ol' Lovie and his "doghouse" he may have a point. Here is a late round backup choice REFUSING to try out for FS to possibly help his team? I'm not saying Graham would be good or even stick there but I can see that point of view. What I don't see is the years someone stays in that doghouse.

And reason they wanted to try him at safety was because Graham struggled( as showed) in 2008 and in OTA's and Camp 2009, bowman the Star and making what seemed INT's almost daily for outpeforming graham.. did you forget THAT?, as the reason for wanting to try Graham at FS?which he refused and why his playing time went down even more

Consider this shorty. As well as we all know how Lovie usually responds to questions like this here he's very conspicuous in his absence of mentioning Graham as being in the CB mix at all. He only refers to him by his ST accomplishments so it would seem that he still won't consider him at CB.
Why is there no, "Corey Graham will be competing for a CB spot this year and we'll just go from there"? LOL

On the other topic posted. Is it worth looking to replace Maynard with Weatherford who has a very good record as a directional punter or do we simply let McGee try to take it from Maynard?
Being that Maynard is a FA we'd have to extend some kind of an offer to him if we do expect him to be in the mix. If we don't expect to have him back we're gonna need a very good directional punter if we want to continue to win the field position contests.

rather go with weatherford for more bucks.. maynard Stuck in a tough Spot in that because a 10+ vet think the MInimum he can make is over $1 mill, so he isn't 'cost effective" anymore and if you can get a young proven directional punter, who is used to cold/wind at giants stadium( don't under-estimate this importance) at least say $1.5-2 mill mill/yr($6-8 mill/4 yrs) i'd much rather do that than go with unknown mcgee or maynard

That's exactly what I was thinking too. I think we all understand how important Maynard's punting has been to the team but his time is probably up. I'm not against McGee but it would be nice to have a guy who has punted in the NFL and under difficult conditions than to go with a guy from Texas who hasn't done either.
We got Maynard from the Giants in FA and it was one of the best FA signings we ever did. Maybe we can find lightning in a bottle in NY again.
Note to Sean Landetta; Please don't bother to apply for this position!
