I'm going to sound like a steretypical Bears fan, but I am more concerned with getting our defense to the point where it gives up fewer than 300 yards per game, including only around 185-190 yards passing and keeping the rush defense to around 85-90 yards per game. The pass killed our secondary last year, that's for sure. Sadly, there's no one other than in the draft for us to get.

I'm waiting on jackiejokeman to chime in with his "Nnamdi Asomugha" bleats. lol

No flyod is a F/A no matter what..and getting Cb in 3rd may help and a DT in 2nd would go along way to adding pressure n qb's and getting the pass numbers down.. and players like Wootton and one of the many moore's..taking the next step could also give the "D" a nice boost in 2011

We made hin an offer and he preferred to see what his market value may be in FA. The ball is in his court not ours right now. Only if we play this year under 2010 rules is he required to remain a Bear or if he get's an offer from another team and we take a pick in lieu of re-signing him.

It would not surprise me to see the Bears look for Safety help in the FA market. So far Steltz and Bullock have not been all that impressive and the rookie safety crop seems a bit weak.

LOL, Dags that may works if you're trying to get a drunken co-ed into the sack but I don't think it's gonna cut the mustard in this case. If he wants $$$ more than a shot at a Super Bowl Ring and we won't match he's gone. Magic 8 ball says, "chances are good".

Then he's a spineless guppie. No guts, no glory. I guess he would rather have a shot at money than at a possible Super Bowl ring. I don't doubt that we will do our damnedest to resign him. I just hope that he doesn't jack up the asking price.

We've made him a fair offer on a 4 year deal so that provides him with some security. When he passed we made a qualifying RFA offer so if they play under 2010 rules he's still a Bear. Once that 4 year offer had been made and he spurned it his chances of staying in Chicago are slim unless he doens't find any other takers. With the changes in KO rules his suitors may be fewer.

most players take the money, see it every day.. nothing to do with "spineless".. and do not get how you first complain about owner's and players because career's so short, should get the all they can, but in next breath you are calling somene spineless for doing what you say they should( get the most they can).. its about "market value".. bears DO NOT CHASE PLAYERS.. they made him a market offer( like berrian's $28 mill for 5 years), and 'if" someone is willing to go higher or pay stipid money like vikes did with berrian( 42 mill), bears jsut let them walk,, whch is smart business.. for both sides

I say draft Buster Skrine and we will be in much better shape that is if C.Harris isn't blowing his coverage like he did all last year and we start Major Wright

Don't know why you say that about Harris. He was a difference maker in the secondary last year and even made someones all-pro team and was a lunch bucket all star. Harris helped turn our safety play around.

Buster Skrine is a very fast but very small 5'9" 185lb CB from a small school and rated as a 4th round pick. The Bears showed an interest in him but I'm sure it was as a CB or NB. Unless he can put on 20lbs and grow 3" he's too small for a Safety.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Everything I have seen from Skrine makes me think he would be LUCKY to be a Tim Jennings down the road. Not impressed with him at all.

we need a "thumper" SS, not another small, undersized Safety or Secondary guy, and IMO harris goes back to SS this year, wher not in coverage as much
