What on earth are bench players going to do to get on the field then? More touchbacks = more glorified wind sprints for guys trying to crack into the lineup.

and maybe this is part of it, to reduce injuries, and thus medical bills if being cold hearted. I just do not see or understand any football reason for it, so looking financial

I want to see only one Favre one and it's the most obvious and probably funny. A texting commercial-after that he can go far away.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Goodbye special teamers...Kreutz catches the ball at the 10 and takes a knee. Ball comes to the 25.
Why risk returning anything if you know you are going to start at the 25?

I like that rule, too many guys like Williams of Dallas were using that as their only method of tackling. Even when he ran straight at someone he just lunged for the collar because you can pull people backwards, I like the rule as that was ruining the tackling in the NFL.

Most players are at top speed after a few steps, so I don't see how this is going to result in fewer head injuries. Actually I think it'll increase them, cuz if guys are figuring there's gonna be less returns, they'll be less worried about watching who catches the ball + staying in their lanes ( which actually makes them slow down a little ) , and they're just gonna be looking to CRANK blockers so they'll get noticed by their coaches. Dumb, stupid, retarded rule which will result in tons of touchbacks taking away one of the best parts of the game. Thanks alot No Friggin Logic league.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

And just how much of the owners concerns over injuries, which have led to some pretty ridiculous rule changes, is all about the money issue? Medical costs and salaries paid out to the injured as well as those who a team might have to pick up have got to be on their collective minds.
I know that kickoffs entail a lot of violent collisions but trying to take them out of the picture by creating more touchbacks isn't the answer. It's just one more way that the interest in the game will decline. Next QB's will have a crease to hide in just hockey goalies and no one will be able to touch them if their in it, LOL.

If Kruetz takes a knee at the 10 that's where the ball will be spotted, not the 25.
Why risk the return? Because we've got three guys on the team capable of taking it to the house and all have averaged over 25 yards per return in their careers. When your kick returners are that good you do take the risk.

And maybe they should get the opinions of the fans and players before going off half cocked with might never work in the way it was intended to.

Fewer injuries because there will be more Touchbacks, and hence less collisions. If youre lined up on the 10 yard line waiting for the kick and it sails over your head making you back up to say the 5...then you can be fairly certain it will bounce into the endzone, so why bother returning it when it will just be placed on the 25 anyway?
Oh, and about the Hester thing...yeah it sucks, but just remember he does most his damage now on punt returns, and those are still the same. So dont despair just yet.
