I really wonder if Martz is going to work to get Olsen involved or whether this is going to be a token effort. Martz has rarely shown the ability to change things up.
If Lovie and JA tell him to do it he will. He began to do just that in the playoffs and just maybe learned that his old ways don't so easily apply with the type of TE talent this team has. We have draft picks invested in both Olsen and Davis and I doubt they'll let them languish on the bench when they've both shown a talent for catching the football.
He's got Manu to be his inline TE/FB and there's a possibilty we get a true FB this year in Unga so I can see them getting Olsen out of the backfield and into the passing agme more this year.

Wouldn't mind seeing unga be a full time FB and have olsen/davis and jettison manu

I would too but I'll bet Manu sticks just because Martz needs a big inline TE in his offense.

Soul, that's what I'm thinking too. They'll keep Manu around to tinkier with the offense in terms of blocking, and maybe use him as a sort of decoy on passing plays some of the time (which frankly sounds questionable since he is not a reliable pass catcher).

You only throw to the guy a half dozen times a year or so. Almost always down around the goaline. He'll get you 2 or 3 td's a year if you sneak him into the endzone from there. That and blocking is all he's good for. He's not a pass catcher and never really has been.
He's Martz's "donk".
