You should put that in the Hester thread.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

If he is value in the top 25 picks and is likely gone before we pick would you move for him?
NO!

Mo I don't think one year at LG learning the line calls from next to Kruetz will hurt him. It actually should be far better than sitting him for a year and playing him behind him. Besides once we sign a FA RG we'll have Garza to fill that spot.
The other reason I like the idea is that it allows Tice to move Williams back to LT to see if the guy and handle it or not. I think it's time we found out for good if the guys a LT of a LG.

The difference with Pouncey is that he is comfortable with playing both G and C. It will not hurt his progress one iota in my opinion. There is still the outside possibility that we can sign a couple of free agents (Joseph/Nicks/Blaylock at OG, while getting someone like Clabo at RT) and possibly have done a lot to turn around the line. After that is said and done, then our main focus is on LT, where we would have the choice of reinstalling Chris Williams or putting in J'Marcus Webb. I still think that Williams can be an effective LT in the NFL if he is left there to develop. He is not naturally a G, so we need to put him where he is comfortable.

ok then take the flip side FA has MANY g so is it in our best interest to draft a G in the first this season? Two things lacking are T and 3 tech DT which to take precedence if we dont play Pouncy at C from day one
Soul Williams should be a LT regardless of who or what we draft. The guy cant play RT and he left much to be desired at LG. If they truly believe in him stick him at LT and let him learn the damn position instead of the musical chair game which is killing his career probably more so then his talent

That I agree with 100% mo. It looks more and more likely to me that we won't get a shot at a guy we know for sure can pull LT from day one. Aside from OMG, Williams is the only other guy on the roster with NFL experience at that spot. We drafted him as a LT and in retrospect he was reach so let's not reach again. I'd rather take a 2nd tier guy in the 2nd than to end up no better off than that with a reach in the first.
Better we go with Pouncey if we go Oline with that pick. We can be certain of where and how he fits and then work around that.

If Pouncy is there just think of the luxury we have. Dont put him at g let him play C. Sign a legit LG from the plethora available. Garza sucks but is serviceable for a year. And sign a RT. This can happen without spending a dime on Kreutz. The second Kreutz is re-signed that is one less person we can go after in FA. Our oline as long as Williams shows up at LT will look a worlds of difference IF and it is a big IF this happens.

You really think there wouldn't be a drop off from Kruetz to Pouncey year one as far as playcalling is concerned. I have no illusions about the physical aspects of Pouncey's game but that's a lot of responsibility for a rookie in a system with as many protections as Tice uses.

There wasnt for his brother in Pitt. Im just saying if we get the right LG to play next to him and Garza being a vet its not like he is surrounded by rookies in that scenario. Kreutz has been pushed around the past few years so a replacement is needed and I dont think we should marry ourselves to seeing him get pushed around again. And Pitt Pouncy held his own despite multiple big injuries on that Pitt oline with no solid vette to learn from. Other teams do it all the time I think we should be no different.

But doesn't Mike rate a notch or two below Maurkice as a Center? Some of what I've read pegs him as a better OG than a C. Not saying he couldn't do the job but is he as road ready as bro was this past year?
