if lookign for a "stud" MLB to carry on the great MLB tradition of the bears of HOF MLb, george conner, nill george, dick butkus, mike singletary and brian urlacher, you are NOT finding him later in draft, sorry.. Stud MLB's go in top 10 most drafts, if not top 20.. not later in drafts.. you can find depth and players like a hillenmayer, but if looking for the Stud, you will end up very dissapointed and not fqar to the draftee..

Put MLB on next years draft/FA as priority one if we do everything right in this years draft.

That being said...whos out there in 2012 at LB, college and pros?

Urlacher is big shoes to fill.

I think Urlacher will play until he is at least 35 or 36. Ray Lewis will be turning 36 on May 15, and he is probably the most tenured of all the MLBs in the league right now. At his age, he is still earning trips to the Pro Bowl. Urlacher is also still earning trips to the Pro Bowl in this early 30s. There is no reason why we cannot get at least three more seasons out of Urlacher, who seems to be getting better with age.

Well, under his tutelage Briggs has become a perennial Pro Bowler, Urlacher has learned to stop the run as well as well as anyone, Hx2 was one of our best role-players and crappy fringe players like Roach have become more than serviceable veterans.

Regardless, I don't disagree with the article, I just disagree with the context. The young depth is a concern just like it is for HB in that we need it, but it's not a pressing need type of concern. Like I said in a previous thread, though, regardless of need I wouldn't sneeze at us picked Martez Wilson at 29 because he is the prototype to fill Urls shoes and would be an absolute beast of an SLB until that time. Love me some Martez Wilson.

It is too damn bad that we can't draft Von Miller.
