And speculation starting that he is going to star at the vaunted 3 technique position.

How does this impact the Bears Draft strategy?

If this is true and they want him to start then how do the Bears justify taking a DT in the 1st round? They would be spending a 1st round pick on a player that would be slated to be in a rotational situation.

In my opinion this would bump DT down the needs list to the 2nd and more likely 3rd round.
Bullshit!!!!!!! Windy all of our Dlineman rotate even our $60 mil bonus baby Julius Peppers. You can't ask a guy to play every snap and expect him to be fresh in the 4th quarter when you need him most. You've got to give him breathers, a series or two off. That's especially true on interior rush men who all game long have fight double teams and wrestle with OG's who outweigh then by 30 lbs or more sometimes.

All these articles say is that they're gonna play Melton at that 3t spot and they're happy with his progress in that regard. Nobody said he was the second coming of Tommie Harris in his prime or that the already have his name on the Pro-Bowl Ballot. He's just one of the two dominating UT's were gonna need in order to improve our pass rush. Despite some beliefs it is THAT important!

There is no way you'll get the guy you're looking for to start at UT in the third round. You may get lucky and find a guy like Melton who has the ability to develop into one but not a first day starter. Round two and Drake Nevis is about as far as we should fall back in filling that spot and I'd still rate it ahead of OT in one if Liuget is there.
