Sorry Benj, didn't know there was a thread on it. I would find it a bit strange to see the Bucs as the opponent. If memory serves me correct didn't they just play there a couple seasons ago? If so I would think the league would want to send another team most likely an AFC opponent.

Bears to play Rams in Hall of Fame Game

Assuming the NFL’s labor stoppage has been resolved, the Bears and St. Louis Rams will kick off the preseason in the Hall of Fame Game the day after former Bears defensive end Richard Dent and ex-Rams running back Marshall Faulk are inducted.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 7, the NFL announced Tuesday.
Teams participating in the Hall of Fame Game are allowed to start training camp a week earlier than other teams.
“We’ve had an opportunity to play in the Hall of Fame Game before,” Bears coach Lovie Smith said this month. “We enjoyed that experience. This past time was the third time for me to be in that game. Whatever the schedule says, I’m excited about it.’’
The Bears will play a second nationally televised preseason game Aug. 22, when they face the New York Giants on “Monday Night Football” at New Meadowlands Stadium.
That exhibition should be a measuring stick for the offensive line. The Giants set an NFL record by sacking Bears quarterback Jay Cutler nine times in the first half of a 17-3 loss last season.
The Buffalo Bills visit Soldier Field Aug. 11-14, and the Bears will visit the Tennessee Titans Aug. 25-28 (most likely Aug. 25). The Bears’ preseason finale will come Sept. 1-4 against the Cleveland Browns.
Exact dates and times for the team’s other exhibitions have yet to be announced.
Ticket prices for the Hall of Fame Game range from $50 to $70. Ticket buyers will receive refunds if the game is not played as scheduled.
Although the regular-season schedule isn’t expected to be released until next week, multiple reports have the Bears returning to London for the first time since 1986. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly may “host” the Bears at Wembley Stadium sometime during the season.

i'd say the "cross marketing" of the buc's , and their owner ALSO OWNING MANCHESTER UNITED, has alot to do with this.. tampa struggled to sell out last year( think had a few local blackouts), despite a nice run, so glazier gets to "hype" a lower price for season tickets( because one less game), gets to cross promote his man-u and tampa framchises here and abroad a smart move why they are back in london againOriginally Posted by thekmann
Makes sense that it would be the Bears and the Rams with both teams having HOF inductees (Dent for the Bears and Faulk and the late Les Richter for the Rams). How can they be selling tickets for a game when no one is even sure it's going to be played yet. I heard there's also a rumor the Bears will play in London this year as one of their away games wont know if that pans out till much later.
