Brian Urlacher has sold more jerseys in the past decade than almost any other player in the NFL, but that slowed down in the past year.
No Chicago Bears players were ranked in the top 15 in jersey sales for the one-year period from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011, based on sales at NFLShop.com, according to USA Today.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally shot ahead of Brett Favre, the man he replaced, and was No. 2 for the time frame, trailing only Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu.
Sales of Julius Peppers jerseys were hot after the Bears signed him to a blockbuster contract more than a year ago, but they didn’t sustain to push him into the top 15, a list that was dominated by 10 quarterbacks. Jay Cutler also did not crack the top 15.
However, the Bears still did well at the cash register. They ranked fourth in terms of total merchandise sales behind the Packers, Steelers and Dallas Cowboys.
Despite missing training camp again in a controversial move and then being linked by allegedly lewd text messages to former New York Jets in-house sideline reporter Jenn Sterger, Favre finished No. 14 in jersey sales.
