If the Bears Traded Up I Would......
Trade: The Chicago Bears trade 1[29], 3[93] and 5[2012] to the Kansas City Chiefs for 1[21].
With the 1st pick in the draft the Chicago Bears select Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin.

If the Bears traded up I would?

giving up waaaay too much. I'd rip my hair out if we did that.
the old adage "play to your strengths"... No Secret Angelo isn't an ace in the first round. if Camarini, Lieuget (sp?, not lookin it up), pouncey, and all the REAL first round talent is gone that would help us why WOULDN'T we trade that 1st and stock up on 3rd and 4th's?...
the most likely scenario is only one of two.
1. we get a big name LT or DT and take him at 29.
2. all the big time names go off the board and we have a choice. take a 2nd round talent with the 29th pick? or Trade out of the 1st and grab a 3rd n 4th plus a project body? or whatever we can get?
with us being so far down in the first round you HAVE to think practically. most of the top tier talent will be off the board barring something miraculous. everyone put's a little TOO much stock in the first round ANYway.... so the IDEAL situation for us to land opening day starters is trade out of the first IMO. unless (like I said before) there is still a can't miss guy hanging around at LT or DT then of course we take him. outside that... it's a no brainer. trade down.

As much as I'd like to see Carimi come here that is like Grizz said WAY to much. If were going to give up all that drafting it better be for a top 5 or top 10 pick not a 29 to 21 mild jump. Jump one or two spots to get Carimi or a Liuget with a low 3rd round pick I'd be ok w/that.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

moot point, they wont trade up. more likely to trade down if anything.

Frankly, there's no one within reasonable range I would even consider trading up for and I absolutely would not trade up for Carimi. None of the OL balance potential and readiness enough to entice me into giving up multiple picks to secure them over Sherrod. I'd rather just sit back and wait to see how the round breaks down and hope we have a shot at Sherrod, while keeping Wilkerson (though he won't get there) and Austin in our back pockets in case no one wants to move up. Sherrod has become my clear 1A of realistically available players, 2 is Austin, 3 is Wilkerson and 4 is a trade down.

The latest mock draft that I posted in another thread has Derek Sherrod going to the Bears in the first round. I really do not think it wise to tempt fate by selling the farm just to trade up eight spots for a RT when what we need is a LT. Carimi is gifted, true that, but he is not who we need.

If the Bears traded up then my prayers would have been answered and Angleo would be gone.

I would be hoping the Jerry was in the bathroom and Tice was trying to pull the trigger before Jerry had finished his most productive business of the day.

My thoughts exactly. We can even trade up to about 23 or 24 for a late 3rd but the jump of only one or two places from there costs us another pick. No way it's worth it and even if I did I'd take Liuget before Carimi because we know that Liuget can start at 3t DT but are less sure that Carimi can play LT.

Way too pricey to give up that many picks in the same year. One of the picks would have to be from 2012 but even still I don't see any one OL in this years draft worth that much.
