Thoughts? I think someone finally untied Jerry Angelo from his chair and let him pick his reach before he had withdrawal symptoms.

Conte gives us depth and has starting potential.
What OLmen did people want?
Rackley, Moffitt and everyone else had been picked.
Safety? Really? Wanna bet our fifth is a defensive end?

"I got drafted?"
Overview
Conte has enough size and speed coupled with the mentality you like to see. Probably never becomes a starter, but could be an effective reserve safety and special teams cover guy. Only started for one season in college so potentially has more development left in him than most other draft prospects. Is currently a liability in coverage. Doesn't have the experience or instincts in zone coverage to be counted on to erase a deep half or the lateral quickness and acceleration to hold up in man coverage. Shows the ability to develop into a productive run supporter. Conte could be a seventh-rounder or priority free agent.
Yep, that's our 3rd round pick, folks.
Angelo: "So what do you think of this guy, Tim?"
Ruskell: "Hmm, sorta looks like John Lynch."
Angelo: "Good enough for me! Let's draft him."

"But he's not me."

This was someone I had never even heard of before. I was expecting a CB or a WR, but instead what we got was a f*cking S. Go figure. This guy better start soon for the Bears or I'm going to want to hang Jerry up by the scrotum.

Looks like Cutler after the Giants game.

Bolling or O'Dowd? I'm actually not upset that we passed on either, at all. Conte flashed a lot of ability, smarts and savvy in only one season at the S position, so the big upside is there and it is a pick for the future. However, there was a ton of more proven talent left on this board, IMHO, one of which just went to GB in Green, who I am a big fan of.
It wouldn't be a draft without JA grabbing a white safety, though.

He's not going to start anytime soon. He'll be a special teams tackler.

Kristofer O'Dowd, Casey Matthews, Curtis Brown to name a few people I would pick.

That's some scary shit. Apparently, Tim Ruskell didn't stop him from spilling his seed here.
