we signed mcgee already in febuary.. really doubt draft a punter.. can see a UDF for camp leg, but not a draft pick...
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears have signed punter Richmond McGee to a two-year contract.
McGee spent parts of last season on Chicago's practice squad, and he was with the Bears during the offseason and 2009 preseason, averaging 36.3 yards on four punts while landing two inside the 20.
The Bears announced the move on Friday.
A member of Texas' 2005 national championship team, McGee entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Philadelphia in 2008. He could be in line to replace veteran Brad Maynard, who is due to become an unrestricted free agent.

Yeah, this CB run has pretty much decimated my board at the position.

McGee has been available for how many fucking years without making a team? Just because we signed SOMEONE, doesn't mean we addressed the position. It would be retarded to go into the season with him as our only hope/

going into this draft gms didnt have the luxury to believe there are going to be rfa once if it even happens FA begins. We cant assume those guys will be back or that we even want them back. Pisa two years and two injuries. Got to start getting guys that can start when Briggs, Urls, and Pisa getted nicked up.

and just as retarded to use a draft pick for a punter in 6th, when if not all, 95% of them will be available as UDFA's, and can get 2-3 "leg" camps and use that pick somewhere else, let's say center for instance- and playing behind probowl( or close) maynard the last 2 years , is why not playing.. not sure should hold that against him

Do not disagree with the premise( we do need to look to future), but unfort the draft broke bad at linebacker( esp SLB/MLB) for bears this year..asked you before- but never answered which Lb at 62 you liked instead, which figured answered that qustion already...
Thin because of how draft broke and urlacher and briggs still at top of game and roach back.. dont mind picking up a F/a LB if need be and waiting for 2011 top of draft for another 'stud" linebacker, than picking one of the scrapple guys now just to say we took one

That can be said for any position, the thing going into this draft was KCU Keep Cutler Upright...replace Tommie, and give Cutler somthing to throw to. We have two out of three so far, we should have had all three with the third pick.

I wasnt asking for just a lb. I was just telling you if we were operating on lets get someone for the future and not the now in the third why not look where we are hurting the most-ol, wr, lb, db. S is not where we are hurting the most we have depth there. With new KO rules I think Manning can be had for allot cheaper then what he thinks he is worth. This pick stunk. Do you want me to list all the OL, WR, LB, DB I would rather have over any safety JA had a boner for in the third? I will if you want

95% of them, huh? Sure, 95% of the crap. Yeah, certainly retarded to add legit talent when we have a legit shot at it instead of relying on old crap and unwanted crap. LOFL There's 3-4 nice legs this year and I'd like to walk away knowing we got the best of them. That is a spot in the draft where you either get ST guys, well, I'd rather address one of the 4 most important ST positions than worry about a C who may play in three years. Olin will be back for a year, and Edwin Williams is a more ready backup than anyone we could draft there. At this point, unless we see Barnes, Fusco, or Odowd fall there, it's just smarter to wait until next year. Maynard's leg is dead. I know you love the shit out of each and every Bear, but it's true, take him off the grill 'cuz he's done.
