LOFL There's 3-4 nice legs this year and I'd like to walk away knowing we got the best of them. That is a spot in the draft where you either get ST guys, well, I'd rather address one of the 4 most important ST positions than worry about a C who may play in three years. Olin will be back for a year, and Edwin Williams is a more ready backup than anyone we could draft there. At this point, unless we see Barnes, Fusco, or Odowd fall there, it's just smarter to wait until next year. Maynard's leg is dead. I know you love the shit out of each and every Bear, but it's true, take him off the grill 'cuz he's done.
There has to be some three foot five RB out of some small Texas school that we need more than a punter.

So if 'only' 3-4 good legs..guess we shall see if zero or only 1-2 punters get drafted, bears will still ahve one of those legs and not wasted a pick for it..guess that i what makes Drafting not an exact science,, or Posting on a mesage board and not making $500,000k or more as a top scout or a player personal guy... and as toub is one of the BEST, if not best ST guy out there, prtty sure he does have a handle on the punting situation for bears, and if we go udfa or even stick with this awful , horrible mdgee guy... don't you think the top ranked ST unit and coach, has input and makes sure the kicker/punters/returners/ coverage units up to snuff?? or are you saying toub doesn't know special teams and he's cluless for signing mcgee?? .. can't imagine the bears gave mcgee a 2 year deal without talking it over with the ST coach, and getting his approval and him wanting him, do you?

only 10 punters have even been drafted the last 5 years and even on those drafted results mixed and i'd say been more found and successful UDFA's the last 5 years over the drafed one's FWIW:

Brad Maynard who some say is on his "last legs" can easily fill in for Wolfe at RB.

The third pick should have been used on a DE as Peppers is on his way out.

We're talking about getting the BEST Punter in the draft versus the #10-20+ at virtually all other positions. The league is pretty muc split right in half on punters drafted Vs UDFA, but like I said, best Punter, which is very much a position of need versus 10-20 everywhere else? No-brainer to me. Of course it's all a moot argument since we will draft a crappy 3rd string QB like Yates.

Fifth round is still ahead, unless the QB from Abaline Christian "falls" to us.

Yet, 18 of the 32 starting punters last year were all drafted. Like I said, best punter, 10-20 ? ... We need a P immediately, we don't need a developmental player elsewhere immediately.
