roach reverts back to us as a RFA, think pisa is let go and Iwuh stays for ST( unless thomas really wows them a graham still here)- and still think you are way too harsh about Conte, but we shall see in fall on that, neither of us will change now : )
As said before the draft "top playmaking LB's", come in rounds 1-2, and if looking for a urlacher or briggs replacement and not just depth, it wasn't in the draft, and would ahve to be a 2012 top pick, if available

Right now, I would focus on replacing Pisa Timoisamoa. That guy is so brittle. Nick Roach played just as well in his place when he was called upon to sub for him as did Pisa. Iwuh did really well in the Redskins game, recording 13 tackles I think. He might be a possible replacement for Lance Briggs in the long run. Right now, I think you go after Brian Urlacher's replacement in the first round because the middle linebacking position is the most important position in Lovie Smith's Tampa Two defense.
Those are some great finds late in the rounds, thats pretty rare (and Webb has huge upside). I can't quite put Briggs in that category, he was 3rd round .... great find but big difference between 3rd round and 5 to 7.
As a side note, I just heard Marcus Monk killed Bin Laden. Going to read about it now.

I'd say that the Bears got at least 3/5 of their picks down pat. We needed a LB and we got one in the sixth round of the draft in J.T. Thomas. I don't think that drafting Conte was a bad thing necessarily, but I would have like to have seen the Bears draft a CB at that position of the draft instead of a FS. Still, Conte has played CB before, albeit with less success than what he enjoyed at the FS position. He may well be the FS of the future for the Bears as soon as we know what will come of the situation with Danieal Manning. The pick for Nate Enderle as the third quarterback was just a terrible decision. We could have used that draft pick for so much else, and we could have waited until the end and sign an undrafted free agent whenever the lockout is lifted. I don't like that pick at all, and that might have been the biggest waste of a pick I have ever seen by Jerry Angelo ever, even over Marcus Harrison, Iglesias, and LeFevour.
I forgot about Marcus Harrison Dags. He is gonna be GONE.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

The draft of 2008 was sort of one of mixed reaction. We got Chris Williams, who I still feel has the ability to become a big time contributor for the Bears for years to come if they will just leave him alone to learn his position; he made great strides as a G last season. We all know about Matt Forte, who has posted at least 1,500 yards from scrimmage in each season he's played for us and is arguably the most dynamic player on the offense. But after that, I can't really say we did all that well. Marcus Harrison was supposed to be our next big pass rushing three technique DT, and he turns out to be a bust. I can't recall offhand the rest of the draft picks from that season as it is getting quite late here in East Tennessee, but I did read that ESPN gave the three year draft grade a B-, so it apparently wasn't too bad.
LOL
Marcus Monk... I wondered what he'd been up to lately. And now I know.
Wonder if he had to try out for Special Forces. Or whether they had to try out for him?
Word is that if Marcus Monk and his Special Forces could have found Bin Laden a few days earlier, Angelo would have drafted him in the fifth to play QB. Now that he's dead, Angelo still might sign him to camp in the hope that we can get more from his corpse than we got fom Bazuin and Okwo.

Wasn't Marcus Monk the guy who used to serve beakfast at the training table a few years back?
