Yep. If JA blows this, Cutler is gonna be killed by Suh/Fairley and we will have the 28th ranked pass offense again.
We will be also watching Green Bay & Detroit in the postseason rather than playing them.

Always is MP and once again JA says they'll look to FA to help solve the Oline woes since that's worked so well in the past. Now for the fact and the fiction.
Fact: We did spend our #1 pick on getting the best help we could at OT and if need be he can also play OG.
Fact: We didn't spend another pick on the Oline the entire draft although we got him his QB and a RB from last years futures draft.
Fact: There will be some FA wideouts out there with Floyd being the one most suited to our needs for a big target.
Fact: If 2011 goes by 2010 rules the OG list shrinks a bit but still has some upgrades for us to look into.
Fiction: FA has always provided us good Olineman. Yeah right, stop living in your past Jerry.
Fiction: Conte was needed more than an OG at that point. No but I'll cut you some slack since most of the good ones were gone.
Fiction: We should have drafted a WR instead of Conte. No, we need one ready to play now and the draft couldn't provide.
Fiction: Enderle was needs pick. Only in your mind Jerry but he may have been the BPA in the 5th so you get to prove it.
I'll let him see if he can take his butt off the Oline hot seat in FA like he says and then I'll size up the entire offseason. So far he's done ok but that OG need looms large right now and chances of filling it have dimmed because of the labor issue.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Hey Dagan who's out there you like in FA?

The question is why did we IGNORE more help at OL and WR in the draft?
If angelo ever discovers CUTLER is on the TEAM...he may address those issues.
I can understand why we didn't draft a WR. We HAD to go OT/DT in 1 & 2. Nobody doubts that. By the time we got to our pick in late-3, Hankerson, Pettis, and Little were all gone. There were the pick of the "2nd tier" big-WRs, so I could see not reaching for one there. I thought for sure JA was gonna go CB (House, Brown) or OL (Boling, Brewer). Unfortunately, neither Wisniewski or Moffit fell near us....they would have been no-brainers.

JJ,
That's the LAST thing I want to see! But...our competiton in the NFC North figures to be much tougher than last year.
Vikes: Ok, not them. Minny is in rebuilding mode and Ponder is not going to be an impact player next year (if he ever is). Other than their QB reach in #1, I did think the Vikes did really well down-draft. They got a number of later prospects I was hoping we might consider like Brandon Burton, Stephen Burton, Ross Homan, and DeMarcus Love. All in all though, the Vikes need more time and are still prob gonna be a sub-.500 team.
Lions: If they can keep Stafford healthy, I am really worried about them. They were better last year than their 6-10 record indicated and will have a monster DL this year if Fairley shows up to play. We played totally shitty against them last year--we barely won one game against a backup QB and won the other one only cuz we got a lucky call. I can easily see the Lions being a legit playoff contender this year.
Pack: They are gonna be way healthier and even better this year...enough said
Point is, our division is likely to be one of the toughest in the NFL this year and it is prob going to boil down to GB, Det, and Chi fighting for 2 playoff spots. JA must address our offensive needs in FA for us to repeat.

This is a class 1B priority...pretty darn close to vital

This is a class 1A priority...absolutely vital

If this was true then we wouldn't have given up 60 sacks and had our #1 QB knocked out twice.

I agree with both elements. All the more reason why the heat is on for FA.

Enderle's position was about as big of a "need" for the Bears forseeable future as a comb is for Brian Urlacher's team photo. And how anyone is going to "prove" him as a BPA is beyond me since the only time he is going to be a factor is in the Bourbonnais Split-Squad Bowl.

Not encouraging...JA better be more skillfull with the phone as soon as FA resumes than he was on April 28th when he lost the NFL's number on Balto lol.

There are three OL from Atlanta I like really well (Harvey Dahl, who is a RG; Justin Blalock, a LG; and Tyson Clabo, a RT/G), plus another OG from Tampa Bay (Davin Joseph), and one from New Orleans (Carl Nicks). Much of this will be determined on what the CBA turns out to be like. If the 2010 rules are in effect, this cuts down on what is available to us greatly.
As far as WR goes, I would like to have either Sidney Rice, Santonio Holmes, or Malcolm Floyd. Braylon Edwards wouldn't be bad either, but he drops the damn football too much.
At CB, Jonathan Joseph is a good player, though he had a down season in 2010 from his stellar 2009 campaign. Then there's the God of all CB in Nnamdi Asomugha, who I personally like but know this acquisition is one that will never happen based on what his asking price will be. Lastly, and perhaps most feasibly, is CB Ike Taylor of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who has been a beast for them.

Vikes still have a stud RB and a solid D, I wouldn't dismiss them wholey, but they are definately on the outside looking in.
GB is definately the front runners. They will be healthier then last year, and the rest of the Div has to play catchup.
Det, has been improving the last 2 years, I've been quick to jump on these teams in the past(Az, Hou) I think they're still a year away or so from being truly scarry, but if Stafford is able to stay healthy, look for them to be in position to make the playoffs for years to come.
Chi, we've only gotten better folks, I don't see 10+ wins in us yet, but if FA goes well we'll be right up there competing w/GB and still slightly ahead of Det(they'll be looking for revenge from last year on us/we're gonna get their best shot out of all the Div). Get that OL not just solidified, but dominant; and get a damned big boy out in the wr position for Cutler to chuck it up to when he's getting pressured; it's his first instinct and that makes it a necessity no matter who's Offense he's running.

Overall the NFCN stacks up as a a pretty tough conference. Everybody is getting better and the division owns the Lombardi Trophy and the Halas Trophy. Not gonna be an easy year at all. Detriot's defense is coming up the boards fast, Green Bay get's healthier, and the Vikes get a QB.
