A Day Removed...Are you still angry?
I've seen a lot of people upset with the selection of a QB and a S (which is an annual tradition, but hey, we didn't draft a DE!!!). I think logically, we DO need a S, because god forbid Manning goes elsewhere and one of the other two gets hurt, and Steltz is required to play. Yeah, we needed O-line, but we KNOW Hanie is gonna end up somewhere else eventuallly, with his talent and at least we have 2 more ST'ers. I'm honestly trying to buy into it, but I still agree with sox that Boling MAY have been a better selection, if not for the fact that depth needed at o-line outweighs depth at S.

still angry about the qb selection; if you state you are going in wanting to grab 3-4 starters, and then trade on of your 6 picks away(good/required move) it doesn't leave you w/a lot of room to take a non essential position. Don't like the S pick either, but I can live with it b/c he'll at least help the ST's; the qb will just take up space on the bench. OL/LB/WR/CB were all bigger needs then QB/S and I would have rather taken a reach at one of those positions then value at a non need w/only 5 picks.

Good point. I thought we shoulda traded down from our 3rd if we weren't gonna get Ballard(esp. since i'm reading Paea isn't a "true 3-technique) or another o-lineman, for maybe another 4th and a 5th. IDC to look up the point system, but we should've tried to get more bang for our buck so to speak.

Paea is a true 3t DT and if you watch his video you'll see that. Christian Ballard isn't and he flunked his drug test at the Combine, or did you overlook that Henry? It's pretty obvious that Carimi and Paea were the guys they wanted one and two and they got them both.
This draft got a B+ grade from me and I'd have given it an A if we hadn't taken Enderle in the 5th. It wasn't a bad pick player wise but not the right pick position wise after we traded our 4th unless there was absolutely no Olineman worth taking at that spot.
Conte is the first true FS we've taken in recent memory and not a bad pick at that spot. If he eventually becomes the starter at FS will the guys who downgraded this draft to a C once that happened go back and regrade it, LOL. Probably not.
We got the LB we needed in the 6th and we have no idea of how good Unga might be as a power back but in essence he was our 7th.
At face value this is one of the best drafts we've had since JA arrived.

I just read somewhere that they were saying Paea is more of a nose tackle, and at the time i wanted ballard, but when i found out he was stupid enough to fail a drug test, he should join his other drug failees in Minnesota..

I was kinda neutral on this, but I don't know **** about him, other than some of our other backups are scary (not in a good way) as starters and Manning leaving is a possibility; plus what round did we get muched hyped about Major Wright in? Basically, I'm neutral to okay with it, and I'll take your word on it.

I agree wholeheartedly. I know Pisa keeps getting injured and Roach is only decent, and when he's not being "cute", JA knows how to get those late round LBs..

Im happy we have legit 1 and 2 round draft picks this season and not reaches or other blunderous bologna I was getting used to. After that I still dont like the 3 and 5 round picks but after 10 years of JA you learn not to get angry and just wait to see what happens. We still got FA whenever that happens

I love the 1st, 2nd and 6th pick.
I am taking a wait and see approach on the 3rd, even though I dont think we should have drafted that position
I absolutely hate, I hate, I HATE the 5th round pick

I never was mad about the draft.
By any other NFL teams standards this draft would be a B+, as we filled two huge needs with very good players.
By Chicago Bears [Jerry Angelo] standards this draft is an A+, as not only did we get the OLmen we wanted we got the 3 technique we wanted.
We sat here and argued and talked about how we wanted Carimi and Paea and then we get them both, that was the perfect first 2 picks and after they happened JA got some slack from me.

Henry, go to the Free Agent Moves Thread and watch the video of him that DB54 posted. I think it's on one of the last two pages. Watch that and then let me know what you think. They may say it because of his build and strength but of you watch him penetrate you'll see that he's a very good UT.
PS: Henry, it's page 34 post #672 of that thread. Enjoy!

but that is what is so good about him he can play both. If he fails at one Im sure he can find a home at the other spot. Of course we are rooting for him to make it at the 3 tech
