Question to those who pay attention
If the court rules that things must go on, and we go by 2010 rules, are we ****ed in FA because of the rule that was in place that didn't allow teams that made it to the championship games to sign a player unless we lose one first? If that IS the case, bye bye Manning..

I'm looking for a reliable source but I don't think it's a big deal. There are quite a few of our FA's who weren't tendered or offered a contract. It also wouldn't surprise me to see us not match an offer for a RFA like Mannning. Whe I get time I'll post the rules or DB54 may beat me to it.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Manning and some of the other FA we have will still be rfa that is the plus side
the down side is the rule of 8 and since we are in that category you cant sign a FA unless you lose one so in that department we would be limited to who we can grab.

It also limits the size of contract you can offer.
I did find this but not sure how accurate it is,
The final four teams will not be permitted to negotiate or sign any unrestricted free agent to a player contract unless he is cut from his team or originally belonged to the team that is trying to sign (or re-sign) him.

If that's the case, and no O-linemen are cut, and we are left in the cold on adding to it, then why not sign Nomnomdi? I really wouldn't like that move, but driving the price range up in case that old story about the pack wanting him is true, just to keep him out of their hands would be beneficial.
