all too often fans say this guy is no good, that guy is no good.... and then we get surprised by guys that turn out to actually be pretty good.... that's all I'm saying.
But at the same time you say we couldn't get anyone in the fifth round that would be any better than guys like Johnson? As was said before, Id rather have an unknown than a known failure.

I didn't think E.Williams or Louis played terrible considering. I love Olin and he's had a great career but all that "leadership" isn't going to keep him off his arse. You think you've seen him on his butt a lot last year wait until we see Suh and Fairley.
If there are any in camp that can make a leap in play I think it would be Louis followed by E.Williams. As for Asiata, Johnson-if they don't show signs of improvement this year they should be cut or just PS.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

This whole thing reminds me of an old Casey Stegel story.
One day in spring training Casey and a Sportwriter were watching two young SS field grounders. Casey pointed one out to the sportswriter and said, "ya see that kid wearin' #12, well he's an 18 year old rookie and if he keeps it up in three more years he could be an Allstar."
The sportswriter then asked him about the other and Casey said, "oh, he's been in our camp for a couple of years now, he's 21, and if he keeps it up in three more years he'll be 24.
Is that what you guys mean about the unknown vs the known? LOL.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

no person in the NFL has EVER bounced around from team to team/ practice squad to practice squad has EVER made it and been good...
in fact... go tell Matt Toeina that.... see what the hell he says about it. he was a practice body for a while, drafted 6th round and he seems to have turned it on...
same can be said for a lot of guys.... just cause they don't set the world on fire doesn't mean they're failures.... if he's in the same boat come year 5.... you might have a point...
Could just be Arizona didn't have the ability to coach him up like Tice.
on the reverse how many guys have blown it up their rookie years just to fizzle out and become nobody's???....
until he's cut from the roster the jury is out, so leave that "failure" crap in the Bathroom Mirror where you found it.
I think the point I made, that a fifth round rookie could turn out to be more valuable than a 3rd year player who can't make an active roster had merit, and your insult was rude and uncalled for.

My sincere appologies.

Fencik-cut
McMichael-cut
Hilgenberg-undrafted ..... just to mention a few scrap-heap guys that turned out pretty good.
.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...................................
Now for some former 1st rounders: 91-S.Thomas;92-Spellman;94-Thierry;95-Salaam;98-Enis;99-McNown;01-Terrell;02-Colombo;03-Haynes;04-Grossman;05-Benson.
really I could care less where a guy was drafted, it's what I see on the field that matters, but don't write anyone off until it's obvious.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Lot of "ouches" huh? Only the last four go on JA's blotter though and at least Grossman had one good season here after his injuries.

I really don't get how people were saying last year that Webb was basically meant to play RT, and he'd be no good at LT, but as soon as we get Carimi, BAM! He's gonna be good over there. Personally, I think Carimi taking over the left guard and Williams going back to LT is our best bet, but Tice will figure it out through trial and error, and probably have the line (saying we don't pick up any big names) in decent shape a couple games in.
