He doesn't have the quickness or short area speed/burst to effectively play the position. His hips and long speed are fantastic, but they just don't fit in well at CB. You don't have to look much further than the Combine to see that if you don't care to take the time to watch him on tape. That 1.66 10 yard split he had was one of the slowest in the DB group, but both his 10-20 (.97)and 20-40 (1.89) yard splits were among the best of all the positions there. It's a very typical difference between FS and CB.
He's our's so lets back him.

Conte was an 'ok" CB and Nickle back his first 3 years at Cal, they moved him to FS the past year and one of those "ducks to water" and he immediately fit the position like a glove and made ALL PAC-10.. it was like urlacher a bad OLB when first tried in camp, but when moved to MLB, he fit it immediately and the rest was history... Do not know how good Conte will be, but seems one of those players perfectly fit for FS and his play in 2010 and all pac-10 honor reflects this... why go back to a poistion he wasn't as good at?
