Martz loves the short, fast receivers, but Jay loves the tall, jumpball receivers, we'll see who's got more pull, if they sign one..

IMHO I would like to see more of a jumpball type of receiver.....

If Martz loves short fast recievers how did Roy Williams lead the Lions in recieving when Martz was there?

I agree with you Henry. To me a bigger taller WR is a more important need than a CB right now. Cutler has shown in the past that he prefers and depends on taller go to guys to maximize his game. Thus far it's one of the few things we haven't provided him with so let's do it.
We have CB's who've shown they are capable of playing in a cover-2 zone oriented defense and we actually have some depth there. What we lack is a front line guy but we won't get that kind of player in FA. The cupboard is pretty bare so that's the guy we should be looking to draft next year. For now we look over the FA heap and see it there's any one who could give us an upgrade over what we have now.
That's the way I'd play it.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

On that note, anybody have a clue how good the CB class should be next year? Obviously with picking #32, we'll have to take what we get, unless Jerry Angelo's another team into running out the clock.

2012 is a pretty good year to be taking a CB.

Even a blind squirrel eventually finds a nut so the odds of the Bears selecting a decent CB are relatively high IMHO...

wait are we talking free agency 2011, or NFL draft 2012? Free agency then I feel they should go WR. The WR market is better than CB, and the top two free agent corners are better fit for a man-man scheme, than they are zone IMO.

Why choose? We need a true #1 at each spot, but can still be successful without one for the time-being. If we have a shot at either, we simply must take it, and we are in a good enough situation with the cap even with a CBA to do so with serious intentions. If you're asking me whether I would sign Awesome-o or Rice if they were both UFAs, I chose Nnamdi and don't think twice, but that isn't to say I would be even the slightest bit disappointed if we only ended up with the latter. With the CBA situation the way it is, we won't have a shot at a Rice (unless you consider Braylon to be in his territory), and we should go all-in for Nnamdi.

Well, I was saying that on a, if we had one option basis. The way I read your post is that you're saying we should get Nnamdi because he's the better player, but do you think it's a bigger need?
