What do we need more, a WR or CB?

In light of not drafting either (not saying we HAD to, just sayin'), what position needs addressed more urgently in FA than the other? I don't think anyone's going to argue that neither one needs to be upgraded, and honestly a decent pickup at either would be greatly warranted, but I think the WR position needs to be addressed in FA moreso, for the following reasons: With it being a universal known that the better the D-line is, the less need you have for world beaters at CB. We have an excellent d-line, which should only get better, with Wooton hitting his second year and Idonije playing his second year as a true DE. With the potential of pressure in the middle much higher than it was last year, that would seemingly take pressure off of the ends, and allow for a better blitz.


The WR's must improve, because, despite the Carimi signing, and even if we get a good FA guard, the o-line is by no means going to be "fixed" and with a plethora of good DT's and DE's (I'm sure Jared Allen will have a bounce back year, after the williams sisters are reinstated), so we need someone that can adjust quickly to a rushed Cutler, and Knox has shown he tends to cause interceptions, and Hester is not even a number 2 guy. Only Bennett seems to have the ability to make the clutch catch, and Olsen comes and goes. I think getting an experienced WR would make the offense a lot smoother (and better than 30th ranked) machine.

Maybe it's a non-issue, but does anyone think the Bears should get a CB instead of a WR (saying we don't get both)?

If there is a need for a WR then why did the Bears make the mistake of getting rid of Devin Houroushamado? or however you pronounce it. Wouldn't it have been more logical to keep the 2 Devins and focus on a quality FA CB?

WR would help so long as he's not just some guy coming in to take Aromashodus place. CB could wait till next season.

Aromashadu had bounced from team to team, and from what I hear, couldn't/wouldn't learn the playbook, and after a few key drops in the first game, was done. He just happend to have 2 good games in 09, and that's nothing to hang your hat on if you don't improve on that the next year...

Then that's makes it a better reason for getting rid of Aromashadu....a guy that's not willing to learn the playbook obviously doesn't need to take up residence on this Bears team. No wonder he got limited playing time. This guy was a one hit wonder.

Don't buy the hype. They wanted him to play slot and he wasn't the best slot reciever when Bennett got healthy. He would have been fine in Hesters spot but they had a hard on for Hester so off he goes.

Hester isn't GREAT as a wr, and really should be used sparingly, imo, but I'd rather have a guy that's trying to learn the system than someone who just isn't good enough to hit the field. He wasn't good enough for ST, so couple that with the fact that he just wasn't that good at wr, and he was destined to leave..

I'm so confused.......I understand both of your points completely...all I can remember of Devin A is the Bears game when they beat the ViQueens and Favre on that Cutler to Devin A TD pass....I was basing my opinion on that as I really don't get to see alot of Bear games here....but the value of both your opinions helps me see a better picture...thanks!!!

There's better out there than DA. I just hope the guy they bring in is better than DA. I really hope he's better than all of them.
