Lance Briggs covers Donald Driver during the NFC Championship Game last season at Soldier Field. Last season Briggs became just the sixth player in Bears history to be selected to six straight Pro Bowls.
He ranked second on the team with 121 tackles and seven tackles-for-loss. Briggs also posted two sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. “The position he plays is very demanding,” said defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli. “It’s a playmaking position and that’s all Lance has always done. He makes plays and has great instincts. He’s always ready to play, and he’s a performer.”
NFL Network is in the process of announcing the Top 100 Players of 2011, a group that accounts for about six percent of the entire league. Numbers 81-90 will be revealed at 7 p.m. (CT) Sunday.
