While the Packers are the NFL champions, Briggs echoed Urlacher’s comments that the Bears are the team to beat.
‘‘We stack up well against anybody — it doesn’t matter who they are,’’ Briggs said. ‘‘We got the core, and we have a good number of young guys, too. So that puts us right there with the elite.
really like the attiude we are hearing fom the leaders of the bears, there is a quite confidence , that you really like to see, really wish we get a new CBA soon, so then can show it on a field !

I like the confidence, but what else is he supposed to say?
It would be a biter story if he said that the Bears were not the Best

Maybe because older now, but its a different confidence from 2005, when bragging better than the 85 "D", this time seem more grounded and just confidence, than what border on the arrogance of 2005,imo

You gotta think they're smarting from being so close and then letting down enough in two games to blow it. Let's hope that is THE motivating factor this year and that they're salivating over the return matches. Frankly I'd much rather be in the Bears shoes than the Packers this year.

Yep and think that is a big part of it, close enough to "taste it", an esp losing at home, you are highly motivated to redeem and get the "W" the next year, you are much hungier being the chasee over the chased

Who wouldn't? The Super Bowl letdown seems to have something to it. But the Bears won't get over the hump untill they get over Lovie Smit. The guy is just like Dungy. And the only reason Dungy won a Super Bowl was because Lovie Smith was on the other sideline

The reason Tony Dungy won a Super Bowl is because Rex Grossman was our quarterback and we didn't have anything better than him at the time.
