I seriously think that woman with all of her "the way it should be" commentary was at least 50% responsible for my divorce. Stay at home mothers should be forbidden to watch Oprah or daytime soaps. Both lack an accurate analysis or depiction of real life. My personal situations should not be involved with her desires to boost her ratings.

I'll tell you this. My old psychiatrist often referred to Dr. Phil as a charlatan due to his questionable background as a psychologist. I've known people who read Dr. Phil's books and swear by them, and they rebuke me whenever I try to tell them about him.

Dr Phil is a "pop psychologist" and that type has become very popular because of the books they write and their TV appearances. They aren't true practicing clinical psychologists in that they don't have treatment oriented practices with actual patients. John Gray was pretty much the same with his "Men are from Mars" books back in the early to mid 90's.
