The good : BIG TED WASHINGTON-KEITH TRAYLOR
The bad : DAVID TERRELL
The ugly : DUSTIN LYMAN-BOB SAPP*
* Expected by some to get high notice from pro scouts in the 1997 NFL Draft, he slipped to the third round before being chosen by the Chicago Bears 69th overall.
Although Sapp was under pro contract for the next four seasons (Chicago Bears 1997, Minnesota Vikings 1998, Baltimore Ravens 1999, and Oakland Raiders 2000, each of which cut him within that season), he appeared in only one regular season game before leaving football.
Sapp went on to fight (and defeat) William "The Refrigerator" Perry in a Toughman boxing special promoted by FX in 2000.

Good: Tommie Harris (despite his injury prone career the past four seasons, he started his career out like gang busters)
Bad: Marcus Harrison (Too busy eating at buffets and not working out)
Ugly: Garrett Wolfe

Good Beating the packers
Bad Letting Lovie smith call time outs or challenging plays.

Some flags should be left out of certain HC's back pockets.

Good move: drafting Walter Payton in 1975.
Bad move: drafting Rashaam Salaam in the 1995 draft.

I think people are misunderstanding the point of the thread.
This isn't to review what the front office has done, this is to review what YOU THE FAN wanted "way back when".
For me, I wanted us to sign Kurt Warner (though I was torn, I believed he would easily be the best we had in decades) before he signed with the Cardinals. I guess I'd call that the good, because he did come back to be an effective QB in the league, though he was much maligned on the Giants.
The bad, I wanted us to sign Dave McGinnis as HC (Also before signing w/ the Cardinals). That didn't materialize for us or him.
One other, I was so thrilled with the signing of Wanny that I predicted a superbowl in his 3rd year. I still believed that would happen going into his third year. Boy was I wrong.

I would have cut turner after 2006. hindsight is 20/20 and the only reason I see us having success is because our offense caught everyone off gaurd. Berrian was a nobody, Rex was still a big Question mark, and Devin Hester took the NFL by storm and set us up time and time again with Great field position making life easy on Ron "bubble screen" Turner. we had the perfect storm of good luck that year and sadly it parlayed into two more years of offensive inneptitude.
Best moves were Trading for Cutler despite the price tag, and landing Julius Peppers. I can't think of anything better considering we got Knox as a bonus deal in the culter trade.
if I could go back:
Trade Tommie Harris while he still had good trade value. Tommie attitude hit the wall long before his ability did. we should have see this as a sign of things to come and just cut him loose while we still had a chance too. Odd's of trading Tommie to detroit for the pick the used to get Suh would have been a huge stretch but more epic than Peppers or the Cutler deal.... oh to dream a dreamers dream...

I somehow seriously doubt that trading Tommie Harris and a couple of draft picks to get Suh would have been sufficient enough, Grizzly. Detroit would probably not have gone with the deal simply because we're a division rival of theirs, and two, they are now very serious about competing for a division crown in the coming years after the way they have been drafting the past couple of years. There is a strong possibility that the Lions will go after Nnamdi Asomugha in free agency, and if they do this, half the battle for them will have been won, that being that they will have a hell of a defense under the tutelage of Guenther Cunningham. Also, they had a heck of draft this year with getting Nick Fairley to complement Suh on the defensive line, as well as shoring up more of their offense with Mikel Leshoure and Titus Young. Now, if Matthew Stafford can stay healthy and doesn't turn into a bust as a result of his injuries, I look for the Lions to be contenders for a playoff spot as early as this season.

Yeah but wouldn't that have been nice if it had worked that way.
