    Chicago Bears Tice's offensive line

Take from the stock at hand...protect the FRANCHISE.

CARIMI LT 6'7" 314 lbs Rookie

    C.WILLIAMS G 6'6" 315 lbs 4 years

    E.WILLIAMS C 6'3" 313 lbs 2 years

    H. JOHNSON G 6'8" 360 lbs 2 years

    WEBB RT 6'8" 335 lbs 2 years

No one says any of this is chiseled in stone.

Find out what works best where.

Keep the LITTLE GUYS on the left side for starters to see if they can protect the blind side.

Did anyone want YOUNGBLOODS on the OL? You got it.

Dont know where we got Edwin Williams from...Tice?

But Tice got Webb? Johnson and Carimi.

Now the problem may be Cutler is too short to pass over them.

I love that kind of problem!

For as much as I have hated on Garza over the years, he's still >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the Herman Johnson I watched in college. No reason to pencil him in as anything more than a ninth OL right now.

Herman should take this extra time and join some ballet classes.

I can't for the life of me figure out why everyone is so quick to just flat out hate players on this team....

the kid hasn't had a chance to prove if he's capable of getting his head out of his ass yet, but everyone is gonna light this kid up everytime someone even THINKS about mentioning his name... if anyone can fix the kids it's Tice. why don't we let the man work some magic before we all proclaim this Johnson kid a bust??

all last year I had to hear about Webb being Junk, Webb shouldn't be starting, he's a 7th round nobody, screw the Bears blah blah blah.... and how did that play out?... looks like we got us one solid starting tackle for the next couple years....

No need to over-react Grizz.... From college, he needed to get lighter on his feet. Otherwise, he just needed to clean up some technique issues. I thought he was a decent project. The ballet comment is clearly a joke... I don't think anyone trains that way anymore, but they did in the 80's.

Gotta say that I think Johnson is still a huge project right now and that a LG is what we'll be shopping for in FA if we ever get to it. If that doesn't happen I'd guess Garza will hold down the fort for at least one more year. He's not a completely useless player and the line does seem to work better with him at LG than when he's not. I also don't see Olin being replaced this year either.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

What about what I said wasn't completely true? What about his going from inactive rookie, to PS for more than half a season for anyone to pick up, to being cut to being inactive every week again tells you that he should be penciled in ahead of anybody? Because he is big? Right now he still has to earn the ninth OL spot, let alone compete for any kind of PT. I hated damn near everything I saw from him in college from his cement shoes to his poor flex and over-reliance on size (not strength) to just stand there and plug holes instead fo doing actual blocking. So far, I have very little reason to believe he will do anything in his career based upon everything that has happened up to today. He's not a bust because to me, he's a never-has-been, and being a bust requires some kind of high expectations at some point.

Also, I've been a Webb fan since day one so you gotta look elsewhere on that one, buddy.

Garza's a RG. They tried him at LG last year to accommodate Louis, but that project failed rather miserably.

Go back and show me where I said he should be penciled in anywhere?... I've said it serveral times, I'm not hailing this guy as the end all be all guard of the century. I'm just sick of the "lets hate this guy cause everyone else is hating on him right now" Trend...

I'm saying don't count the guy out. that's it. nothing else to read into... no spin... no hidden meaning.... nothing.

it's a simple.... cut the guy some slack already. We picked him up for a reason. best guess is Tice see's something in him or maybe know's how to reach guys like that. last year I had to listen all year about how Webb sucked this and that, shouldn't be starting.... eveyrone ready to tar and feather the guy before he even got into a rythm...

we're just talking about possiblilities and this guy never get's passed hearing his name called before the lynch mob starts the "never gonna be shit in the NFL" chant....
