To solve for the variable "x", you have to square the number and come up with the final total of games, which when the problem is solve, the answer is 256. 256 games played per season. This is not to be confused with the fact that there are 32 teams in the league and thus you square that number. Doing that would double what the problem calls for. In other words, Jimmors is correct in his analysis that "it takes two to tango," because each game involves two teams.
