    2012 Bears Mock Drafts

We have nothing to talk about so I thought we could get started on 335 days of draft fighting.

    1. WR Jeff Fuller [Texas A&M] 6’3” 220lbs.

A big physical WR with enough speed to get down field and create big plays. Fuller has the physical presence to be the Brandon Marshall type for the Bears. Fuller stayed remarkably consistent despite A&Ms serious QB problems that last couple of seasons.

    2. OG Levy Adcock [Oklahoma St] 6’5” 330lbs.

The Bears addressed the OT class with the selection of Gabe Carimi, but the interior OL continues to be old and undersized. Adcock plays OT and OG for the Cowboys and has the size and nasty disposition that Tice looks for and he can step in at LG.

    3. LB Brandon Maye [Clemson] 6’2” 230lbs.

The Bears will continue to add LB depth preparing for the eventual departure of Urlacher and Briggs. Some may argue that this is too late for a LB, but I believe both Urlacher and Briggs will play 2-3 more years. Maye has the speed and seek and destroy mentality that the Bears need at MLB. He was a force in the Clemson spring game.

    4. CB David Rowe [Rutgers] 6’ 200lbs.

More youth and depth for the Bears defense this time at the CB position. The Cover 2 defense does not require 1st round picks at CB, but needs big physical players that can re-route WR. Rowe will add to the young talent at the position that is already on the team.

    5. QB John Brantley [Florida] 6’3” 215lbs.

The customary wasted Mike Martz we need to develop a QB pick. The team will justify by saying that he is Pro Ready and that he has been tutored by Charlie Wies.

    6. C Jeremiah Hatch [Kansas] 6’2” 332lbs.

The Bears still do not have a developmental center of the future and while I have some faith in Edwin Williams, but Hatch has the size that Mike Tice would love to put in the middle of the OL.

    7. CB Buddy Jackson [Pitt] 6’1” 190lbs.

More CB depth with size and enough speed, Jackson will also contribute on special teams right away.

Well at least it's something to talk about. Early as #%&* but something nonetheless. I might go CB in first 3 rounds somewhere.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

If we have a draft next year, it means there will be a new CBA in place, which means the FA class could potentially be stacked, especially OG which was looking awesome already this year. With three young building blocks in place and a new C coming very soon, I think it is also a veteran need position, therefore I immediately scratch OG from my draft plans entirely. CB, WR and C are all top priorities for impact makers and along with OG, at least one should be able to be filled via FA but as of right now I wouldn't mind drafting BPA at each position 1-3.

I would consider MLB to be a need to that should be met as early on as possible.

IMHO, Urls has at least a couple more very good years in him, and it is a position that will need to be filled with legit 5 star talent to avoid a huge dropoff. Seeing how it's not time yet to go MLB round 1, it's not time to get our MLB of the future so I fill the more immediate needs without a #1 there first and don't think twice.

Would you consider an OLB, by chance, seeing as how we are thin in that area?

I would definitely consider adding any LB, especially one who we feel can play SLB for a bit while learning behind Url, but it is a much lower priority unless he blows away the guys on the board at the three positions I feel adding a new starter would be huge impact moves for us next season. A big time starter at CB or WR is something I really wish we had right now, SLB I feel we can keep going for system vets like Pisa and suffer zero dropoff. Hell, if Nick fucking Roach made a career for himself playing next to our two superstars at LB, pretty much any decent prospect can. God, why can't this gay ass lockout just be over!

To me I agree with Sox, while LB is going to be a need down the road for the Bears, it is not that pressing and is a position that can be filled later on.

For me to take a LB in the 1st round he would need to be Patrick Willis.

Unless E.Williams is the second coming of Kreutz... Center is the time to think about in 2012.
