If Marino got into the HOF with no ring, Urlacher should too, because he's pretty much been the Marino of linebackers his entire career. He puts up high tackle numbers, makes clutch plays, key sacks and ints. And to top it off, he still has another 2-3 seasons in him so he's not even done yet. I can't even count the times I've cursed at my TV when he makes plays against the Packers. Definitely a guy you want on your side in a game. If he doesn't make it into the HOF it will be a travesty.

I'm still not convinced that Urlacher won't win himself a Super Bowl before he retires. I have to believe that the Packers and the Bears just took their rivalry to the next level, and that I won't be surprised if the two meet again in the playoffs next year should both teams get in. There's no reason why we can't have a second straight year of a war between the Bears and the Packers where we play each other three times. I don't think the rest of the NFL could resist another sexy match up like that.
Now that we are FINALLY upgrading our offensive line and are possibly one piece away from having a complete unit (though I'm convinced that I like J'Marcus Webb unlike the legions of other people on this site seem to be) and we may be getting a top flight WR, I'd say that the deck between the Bears and the Packers will be pretty evenly stacked. I'd like to see this rivalry turn into the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry of the NFL, in which the road to the Super Bowl out of the NFC goes through I-94/I-43 between Chicago and Green Bay.
