It's not so easy as that, Benji. In college basketball, which program would you say has been better over the past 100 years of basketball - Kentucky or UCLA? UCLA has 11 National Championships while Kentucky has 7. Yet, Kentucky is number one in win percentage by a wide margin, and in wins, and have totally dominated college basketball in the SEC completely since the beginning of conference play in 1933. Most writers will say unequivocally that Kentucky ranks ahead of programs like UCLA, North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, and Indiana. Yet, the Wildcats are only second in National Championships. What does that tell you about the Bears?

championships tell the story. Giants have the most wins in baseball, followed by the Yanks. Does that mean the Cubs and Giants are better than the Yanks who have the most championships?

All of UCLA's NCAA titles came between the years 1964-1975. Only one championship, 1995, was outside of that parameter. Therefore, UCLA is not as dominant or as good of a program as Kentucky.
The Yankees are the winningest AL team by a long shot. They've also won 27 World Championships. The Giants have over 10,000 wins, but only have 6 titles. Over the past 85 years, the Cardinals have been the best National League franchise because they have won 10 World Championships during that time. The Dodgers have won 6 titles, so they are next after the Cardinals during that streak.
You have to be picky when discussing the greatest teams. Will any team match UCLA's total of National Championships over a period of 12 seasons? Probably not. Will one eventually break their record of total championships won? Maybe, and if it happens, it will be Kentucky who does it because they are the closest team to amassing that total record.

I love how wins determine greatness until the Yanks are brought in.
If you would rather win meaningless games than championship games, feel free. But give me the championship record over the win record any day.

Could it be because the Yankees have both the American League record for wins AS WELL AS the league record for World Championships? They have a double kabosh on everyone.

But you continue to avoid the question.
Would you rather have most wins in league history or most championships? Saying you would rather have the most wins doesn't make you a packer fan.

I love championships...but at the same time, there is that part where the team with the most wins/highest winning percentage/winning record against its arch rival, who happens to have the most championships sounds good too. The Packers have had about as many bad periods as they have good. The Bears have had more good periods than have the Packers. And, the Bears have won more consistently. So, I guess I have to go with the team that wins the most consistently over the years over the championships, because after all, the team with the most wins/highest winning percentage can always catch up to the team with the most championships.

think alot depends on the difference.. Would i rather have the most wins BY A LOT( lets say 700 wins to 500) and dominate the other team( let's say almost always sweep them), and have just one less championship?.. YES..
A good example of this is the Braves vs Marlins.. braves won 13 straight division titles, but only one ring.. marlins won 2.. but sucked in between..not sure would want to be an under .500 team with a few great years.. VS consistently very good but one less championship.. Its not as black and white as you are tying t make it out(and trying to get a bear fan to praise the packers).

It will be a cold day in hell when I praise the Packers.

But the packers only have about 50 less wins I think, and have a handful more championships. The Bears lead the all time series by eight games too I think.
I love the Bears, but the packers have been the more successful franchise
