And ya know something soul- esp in the offseason, and now with no football at all- think discussion and lists like this really a good thing for posters( esp younger one's) to LEARN about history and maybe even be inspired to look up some of the older players they never saw. As *any* list just one person's opinion, ther never is a "right" or 'wrong" answer, but can be fun discussions and all can learn from debating the pro's and con's of each player, and even for many positions, 'what is important" to rank.. or the "what if's" of the players if played in different era.. never a bad thing to have more informtion or perspectves on a subject : )

Oh I agree if things like this do stir some interest in posters about the teams history. Too many forget that the Bears were a very dominant team in the 30's and 40's. It's true that it was long ago but it proves that Old Man Halas was one of the shrewdest talent evalutators around in those days and a whole lot of innovations that are still in the game today were brought about by Bears teams and/or players.

I find your inability to understand what Benjamin is saying is pathetic.

Benjamin talks about wide receivers and DB54 argues runningbacks. It is ok to admit your reading skills suck. :D

    1) Gault- Stats are misleading. Ever dangerous and usually showed up in big games with key catches.
    2) Graham- Was fabulous during that 1 particular season with Kramer. Should have had more.
    3) Booker- Solid for a few years.
    4) McKinnon- Good hands and the best blocking wr the Bears had . A poor man's Hines Ward.
5)Knox- A playmaker with many years to go.
6)Baschnagel- Small but tough. An earlier version of Wes Welker.
    7) Conway- Supreme talent who played on teams with sub-par QB's. Could have been # 1.
    8) Robinson- Tall and pretty good for a while. Exactly the type of receiver Cutler needs now.

( Wendell Davis would have had a good career if he hadn't blown out both knees. Bad brake for a guy with potential )
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

disagree about Gault blue horshoe.. but good call on wendell davis!.. had forgotten to add him to the "very good WR , that had a tragic injury"( ala marcus robinson).. *&*^T^&$R^E#% Eagles bad turf!.. that was one of the nastiest injurie ever, watching his cleats get stuck in the soft carpet and pop BOTH knee caps off his legs..he was just breaking out as a good WR, when happened.. he sued the eagles, but can't remember how much won

and on graham that was the idiot son's, mistake for not resignign him, and letting him go to jet's the year after had the 1,300 yards, just another mistake in mikey's reign of incompetence

LOL.. if i respond benj, you accuse of "fighting or starting a flame war".. if i move on because going nowhere and thread is having a good discussion( besides your post) going, so no use derailing thread, then you keep trying to bring it up when all else let it die..

dammned if do, dammned if don't.. why derail a thread that has a good convo going?

Was my "our WR history sucks" not a valid point? Is it not a part of the convo? A simple I am sorry I misunderstood what you said would have been perfectly fine ;)

oh and blue shorshoe- i'd put tom waddle ahead of bashanagel in the 'small, but tough" WR department.. no one could get knoked out and come back in game to perform like Waddle Could : ) To this day, really amazed he hasn't had problems with 'post concussion" syndrome.. Just shows how little we still know about the brain- Many players have alot less concussion and hits to head than waddle ever did-and suffer permanebt damage and in really bad way now- but thankfully waddle going strong as an announcer now
