Urlacher would welcome WR Burress to Bears
CHICAGO -- Brian Urlacher said he would welcome Plaxico Burress on the Chicago Bears, and he didn't envision how the move would generate any negative energy in the locker room.
Burress, 33, last played in August, 2008. He served nearly two years for carrying an unlicensed gun after accidentally shooting himself in the thigh. He'll be a free agent when the NFL labor problems are resolved. "Heck yeah," Urlacher said Thursday on ESPN 1000's "The Waddle & Silvy Show," when asked if he would welcome Burress. "We've never had a problem with any players in our locker room, no matter who they are." Burress was the No. 8 overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2000, and Urlacher went one pick later to the Bears. "He's not going to hurt you," Urlacher said. "You've seen what he's done throughout his career. "I'm a big fan of his. Always been a big fan of his, football-wise. Every time he plays against us, he gives us fits. He's a tough matchup for any corner. He's a big guy [6-foot-5, 232 pounds], good red-zone guy. I don't know how fast he is, but that doesn't really matter when you're that good." Oh no...

I am sure they will not bring him in just on Urlachers comments. But it may get his foot in the door.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!

33 isn't that old and he's got to be anxious to get back . If he pans out we have everything to gain, if he doesn't you just cut him. It would foolish not to bring him in and give him a look. He doesn't have a major history of being a locker room problem like some others.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I agree and he was put away for basicilly being stupid but not crazy.

At this point in time I don't know why we should be afraid to bring him on. After that jail sentence I doubt he'll have any more legal issues and at age 33 I'd think he's matured out of his problem phase. Being in jail where he wasn't such a BMOC should have helped. He has the size and skills we're looking for and it's doubtful he could command the kind of money some of the other may. I'd rather have him than Braylon Edwards.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Soul, I'm gong to call you Bucky because of the Badger you have as part of your signature.
I doubt highly that Burress will give anyone he plays for much trouble. I think by that standard set by Michael Vick, he has, as you said, matured to the point to where he can be a beast on the field AND keep his head completely in the game.

I am not sure how much running he did in prison, but I am sure he put more muscle on. I would atleast like to see how much he is willing to play for.

Disagree with that- he was suspended on pitts for missing meetings and practices ,, then did the same thing on Giants, people forget even before the shooting incident, he had again been suspended from team, for missing meetings, not showing for practices etce tc.. that is a big problem on 2 different teams
